Community Calendar for Week of April 22

THURSDAYS
Hope for Addiction meetings are held every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane.

APRIL 23 – 24
The Gathering Spring Vintage Market will be held at the West Virginia Pumpkin Park in Milton. Hours are noon until 7 p.m. on the 23rd and 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on the 24th. Admission is $5.
The Town of Eleanor is hosting a spring clean up from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eleanor residents can bring unwanted items and other junk to the Eleanor Pool parking lot to be disposed of for free. For more information, call 304-586-2319.

APRIL 23
West Virginia Home Mission, 1128 Benamati Avenue, Nitro, will be holding a “Grab and Go” lunch for Nitro First Responders from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
There will be a food pantry at 11 a.m. at the Hometown Senior Center. One box per household.
Mikele Buck will be performing from 8 to 11 p.m. at Riverside Cafe, 3680 Winfield Road, Winfield.
There will be a lemon-themed craft workshop for ladies at 7 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Crafts range from $5 to $25. RSVP by going to sokaiclubhouse.com/product/ladies-lemon-craft-night-april-23-2021-7pm

APRIL 24
The Elk River Boots and Saddle Club Kickin’ N’ Spring Expo and Open House will be held from 9 a.m. unti 10 p.m. at the Winfield Riding Club. Admission is $5.
Mountain Artist Democracy Entertainment Club, featuring B3ti3, Abandon the Ship, and Hangman’s Ghost, will be performing at 8 p.m. at Riverside Cafe, 3680 Winfield Road, Winfield.
There will be a youth fishing derby from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Check in from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the large shelter. Cost is $15 per person.
RidgeWomen of River Ridge Church, 1 Saturn Way, Hurricane, will be holding a Prayer Mosaicguided prayer walk from 8 to 11 a.m.

APRIL 30 – MAY 2
The Crafters MEGA Show will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the former Value City Furniture Store, 6400 MacCorkle Avenue, SW Saint Albans.

APRIL 30 – MAY 1
There will be a tent revival at Teays Valley Baptist Church in Hurricane. Times are 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Fridays and 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
Saving Vintage, 401 Midland Trail, Hurricane, is holding a store closing, final clearance, garage and vendor sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

MAY 1
There will be a ramp dinner and auction starting at noon at the Milton VFW Post 9796. The cost is $10 per dinner.

The Putnam County Farmers’ Market will hold its opening day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hurricane’s Spring Festival on Main Street will be held from 1 to 5 p.m.

First Responders Appreciation Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

MAY 3

MAY 7 – 8; MAY 14 – 15

Yeager Insurance and Financial Services, 3786 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be holding a donation drive for the Putnam County Animal Shelter from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MAY 8
The Sweet Buy and Bye Shoppe, Route 62, Buffalo, will be holding an outdoor flea market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be a Mommy and Me Garden Tea from noon until 2 p.m. at the Commons Marketplace at Valley Park in Hurricane.

MAY 9
There will be a Mother’s Day Brunch from 1 to 3 p.m. at Gritt’s Farm in Buffalo. The cost is $75 per person. For tickets, go to tickets.grittsfarm.com
