Community Calendar for Week of May 13

Hope for Addiction meetings are held every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane.

The Putnam County Farmers’ Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park, Hurricane.

MAY 14 – 15
There will be a tent revival at Teays Valley Baptist Church in Hurricane. Times are 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Fridays and 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

MAY 15
The Fort Randolph History Walk will be held between the hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fort Randoph, Krodel Park, Route 62, Point Pleasant. Meet historical reenactors from the colonial period.
The Buffalo Church of the Nazarene will be holding a yard sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Meow Cat Rescue Designer Bingo will be held from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at the old Magic Mart building in Liberty Square in Teays Valley. The cost is $30. Everyone MUST pre-register at www.meowcatrescuewv.com/bingo
River Cities Bully Buddies pit bull rescue will be holding a meet and greet from 1 to 3 p.m. at Petco at Liberty Square in Teays Valley.
The Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene, 3937 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be holding a spring market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

MAY 16
The Woman’s Club of Nitro will be holding an afternoon tea from 1 to 4 p.m. at the clubhouse, 2205 2nd Avenue, Nitro. Open to the public. Bring a teacup.
The Milridge Farm Jumper Stumpers event will start at 9:30 a.m. at the Winfield Riding Club.
Coach Crosier will be offering a hitting clinic at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at Alpha Sports Academy, 920 Midland Trail, Hurricane. Ages will be from 8-15. The cost is $40. To register, go to https://alphasportsacademy.as.me/schedule.php

Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, 5320 Frontier Drive, is offering the Baby Love Pantry, which provides free diapers, sizes newborn – 6, and wipes as well as formula when available. Times are from 10:30 a.m. – to noon. For more information, call (304) 415-3194.
There will be a Grab and Go Lunch for Nitro First Responders from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Virginia Home Mission, 1128 Benamati Avenue, Nitro.

The Nitro MiniCon comic convention will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Nitro Living Memorial Park, corner of 2nd Avenue and 21st Street, Nitro.
The 1991 Poca High School 30th Year Class Reunion will be held at 6 p.m. at Rio Grande in Nitro. The class will later go to the Mardi Gras Casino.
The Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road, Winfield, will be holding a sphagetti dinner fundraiser drive-through for Jeramie Gibson, who needs a kidney transplant. The cost is $8 per meal.
