Community Calendar for Week of June 3

THURSDAYS
Hope for Addiction meetings are held every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane.

SATURDAYS UNTIL OCTOBER
The Putnam County Farmers’ Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park, Hurricane.

JUNE 4 – 6
The West Virginia Home Show will be held at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center in Charleston.

JUNE 4 – 5

There will be a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 117 Knights Court, Scott Depot.

JUNE 4
The Nitro Antique Car Club will be holding a cruise-in at the Nitro Living Memorial Park, 20th Street and 2nd Avenue, from 5 p.m. until dusk.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce is hosting Business Before Business at 7:30 a.m. at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel, 417 Hurricane Creek Road, Hurricane. To register, call 304-757-6510.
There will be a Homeschool Hangout at the Hurricane City Spray Ground, Hurricane City Park, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Team trivia night will be held from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Wave Pool at Valley Park, Hurricane. The cost is $10 per person to attend.

The annual backpack packing day will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene, Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.
The West Virginia Cupcake Festival Queen’s Pageant will be held at 1 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.
Dr. Philip Hatfield, local historian, will be signing copies of his book “For the Union: The Civil War Experiences of Captain John Valley Young and His Family” from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hurricane City Hall.

The Mark Wood Fun Magic Show will be coming to the Valley park in Hurricane at 10 a.m., and the shelter behind the Eleanor Library at 1 p.m.

There will be a class in phone photography for tweens and teens at 6 p.m. at the gazebo at the Eleanor City Park.

JUNE 11
Break the Seal will be performing from 8 a.m. to midnight at Riverside Cafe in Winfield.

The Putnam Chamber Annual Dinner & Celebration will be held at Valley Park in Hurricane at 6 p.m.
The Hurricane First Church of God will be holding their monthly Second Friday Gospel Concert on Friday, June 11, at 7 p.m. The church is located at 3225 East Putnam Avenue, one block north of the former Rite-Aid store.
