Community Calendar for Week of July 1

THURSDAYS
Hope for Addiction meetings are held every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane.

THURSDAYS THROUGH AUGUST
The Kiwanis Free Swim Night will be held every Thursday at the Nitro Pool through Aug. 26 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.

THURSDAYS IN JUNE AND JULY
Valley Park’s Night Market and Movie Night will be held from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Thursdays in June and July at Valley Park in Hurricane.

FRIDAYS DURING SUMMER
Food Truck Friday is held every Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

SATURDAYS UNTIL OCTOBER
The Putnam County Farmers’ Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park, Hurricane.

SUNDAYS DURING SUMMER
Thankful Valley Farms will be giving away fresh produce every Sunday this summer from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Stokes Grocery in Buffalo.

JULY 2
Waves of Fun in Hurricane will be hosting a special “The Office” team trivia night from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Mountain State Art and Craft Fair will take place at the Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley.

JULY 3
There will be a 5K run/walk starting at 8 a.m. at the Buffalo Town Hall.
The Buffalo High School Football’s 4th Annual Car Show will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the high school.
The Buffalo 4th of July Parade will start at 1 p.m.
Willie D. and No Regrets will be performing at 2 p.m. at the gazebo in Buffalo.
The City of Hurricane 4th of July Parade will be held at 2 p.m. There will be activities at the Hurricane City Park from 3 to 8 p.m.

JULY 6 – 9

History Alive presents Harriet Tubman at 10 a.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Learn firsthand about the Underground Railroad from conductor Harriet Tubman, herself an enslaved person who made an escape to freedom in 1849.

JULY 9 – 17
The Putnam County Fair will be held at the fairgrounds in Eleanor. 4H/FFA Animals, Carnival Rides, Music, Motorsports, Rodeo, Food, and more.

There will be Zumba with Korri at 2 p.m. at the Buffalo Library.
The Nitro Antique Car Club will be holding a cruise-in starting at 5 p.m. at the Living Memorial Park in Nitro.
Adam’s Road Ministry, a Christian, non-profit music ministry dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song and testimony, will be at Christ Community Church, 733 Rocky Step Road, Scott Depot, at 6:30 p.m.

JULY 19 – 20
