Hope for Addiction meetings are held every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane.

The Kiwanis Free Swim Night will be held every Thursday at the Nitro Pool through Aug. 26 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Food Truck Friday is held every Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

SATURDAYS UNTIL OCTOBER
The Putnam County Farmers’ Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park, Hurricane.

SUNDAYS DURING SUMMER
Thankful Valley Farms will be giving away fresh produce every Sunday this summer from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Stokes Grocery in Buffalo.

AUGUST 13
Putnam County Schools Title I Program will host their annual Back to School Blast at Putnam Career & Technical Center from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Families and students will remain in their vehicles and backpacks will be distributed to them directly. Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding a Gospel concert at 7 p.m.

AUGUST 14
The Fix’Em Clinic will hold a dog swim from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Albans City Pool, 931 Observatory Drive, St. Albans. The entry fee is $10 for one dog; $15 for two dogs; and $20 for three.
The Nitro Antique Mall, 110 21st Street, Nitro, will be holding a Lego build contest starting at noon. The cost to enter is $12.

The Winfield High School Band Boosters will hold a rummage sale from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school.
There will be a community yard sale starting at 8 p.m. at 2102 3rd Street, Culloden.
Teays Valley Church of God, Connection Point, Scott Depot, will be holding their annual community event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a classic and custom car cruise-in, food trucks, and school supply giveaway.

There will be stand up paddleboard lessons from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hurricane Resrvoir and 4 to 6 p.m. at the Winfield boat launch. The cost is $25 for one session or $40 for both sessions. Text 304-610-8999 to make your reservation.
