Hope for Addiction meetings are held every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane.

The Kiwanis Free Swim Night will be held every Thursday at the Nitro Pool through Aug. 26 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Food Truck Friday is held every Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Putnam County Farmers’ Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park, Hurricane.

SUNDAYS DURING SUMMER
Thankful Valley Farms will be giving away fresh produce every Sunday this summer from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Stokes Grocery in Buffalo.

The Nitro Catfish Fishing Tournament will be held from 4:30 to 11 p.m. at Ridenour Lake in Nitro. Sign-ups are at the lake’s gazebo. The cost is $15 per person.
The River Ridge Church, 1 Saturn Way, will be holding RidgeKids Block Party from 7 to 8:15 p.m. This event features a stage show, games, give aways and a dance party with DJ.

AUGUST 21 – 22
Adda Baptist Church, Sugar Camp Road, Hurricane, will be celebrating its 150th anniversary jubilee and homecoming. There will be a picnic at 3 p.m. and a Gospel sing at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Church services start at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Brothers In Blue River Valley Chapter will be hosting Ride to Remember for Shane “Derby” Jividen. Meeting at the Eleanor, WV Fire Department. Registration starts at 10 a.m., Kickstands up at noon.
