Community Calendar for Week of December 2

MONDAY – FRIDAY THROUGH CHRISTMAS
A Christmas Village Model Train Layout is open to the public from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Bailey Hardwoods located at 10802 Winfield Road, Winfield. For reservations for large groups, call 304-936-1348.

NOW – DECEMBER 4
Yuletide in the Park will be held at Valley Park in Hurricane. Vendor event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 27. Tree lighting on Dec. 3.

DECEMBER 3-4; 10-11
The Heritage Farm Museum, 3300 Harvey Road, Huntington, will be decorated up as a lighted Christmas village from 5 to 9 p.m. For more information, go to https://heritagefarmmuseum.com

DECEMBER 3 – 4
Word of Light Community Church will be conducting a live Nativity at Valley Park in Hurricane from 6 to 9 p.m.

DECEMBER 3
There will be a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Valley Park in Hurricane from 6 to 8 p.m.

DECEMBER 4
The St. Albans Light Boat Parade will start at 6:30 p.m. The parade can be viewed at the St. Albans Park and Boat Ramp.
Santa Claus is coming to Somewhere in Time Antiques, 307 21st Street, Nitro, from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be photos, gingerbread houses, cookies and milk, and more.
Buffalo United Methodist Women’s Society will have a Church Bazaar from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall. The ladies will also be serving a Spaghetti Dinner. Tickets for Adults are $7 and Kids are $5. Call or text 304-932-3147 to place your order.

The Grand Yuletide Celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane as part of Yuletide in the Park.
There will be an Ugly Sweater Contest at Yuletide in the Park at Valley Park in Hurricane. Register at the event by 11:30 a.m.
There will be a Grinchmas party at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Valley Cakes and Cafe, Valley Park, Hurricane. The cost is $15 per child.
The Miss Yuletide 2021 pageant will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Valley Park Conference Center in Hurriane. Pageant for all ages. Attire is Christmas PJs. For more information, go to the Miss Yuletide Pageants Facebook page.
The Yuletide in the Park Christmas Cookie Competition will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding a gift making class for kids from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Gifts range from $12-20.

DECEMBER 5 – 20
The West Virginia State Farm Museum will display two-million lights this year to celebrate the Christmas season from 6-9 p.m. each evening. The museum is located just north of Point Pleasant.

DECEMBER 5
St. John United Methodist Church, 4536 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot, will be holding a Christmas concert with the West Virginia Treble Makers at 6 p.m.

DECEMBER 6
Christmas with Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Couples are $40; singles are $25. To purchase tickets, call 304-382-5841.

DECEMBER 7
The Nitro Women’s Club will be hosting cocoa and cookies with Santa from 5 to 7 p.m. at 2202 2nd Avenue, Nitro.
WV Home Mission Ladies will be holding a Christmas party at 6 p.m. at the church located at 1128 Benamati Avenue, Nitro.

DECEMBER 8
The December Homeschool Skate will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Skateland of Huntington, 4430 Altizer Avenue, Huntington. Open to all homeschoolers, new and old. $5 per skater. Bring a snack or drink.

DECEMBER 9
The Winfield Middle School Band will be holding a winter concert at the school at 7 p.m.
The Network of Women will be meeting at Drip’s Cafe on Main, 2759 Main Street, Hurricane, at 8:15 a.m. Bring a wrapped gift valued between $15-20 for gift exchange. RSVP by contacting the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce at (304) 757-6510.

DECEMBER 10
Riverside Cafe, 3680 Winfield Road, Winfield, will be hosting a benefit toy drive at 8 p.m. for foster children with Necco. There will be music by Alien Super Jesus, Hurl Brickbat, and Pinky’s Brains.
