Community Calendar for Week of December 16

MONDAY – FRIDAY THROUGH CHRISTMAS
A Christmas Village Model Train Layout is open to the public from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Bailey Hardwoods located at 10802 Winfield Road, Winfield. For reservations for large groups, call 304-936-1348.

NOW – DECEMBER 20
The West Virginia State Farm Museum will display two-million lights this year to celebrate the Christmas season from 6-9 p.m. each evening. The museum is located just north of Point Pleasant.

DECEMBER 17 – 18
Hometown Independent Mission, 25 3rd Avenue South, Hometown, will be holding their annual Drive Thru Live Nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening. The church is taking donations for local food banks.

DECEMBER 17
The Macholah Ballet will be performing The Nativity Ballet from 7 to 8 p.m. at King’s River Ministries, 777 Mallory Lane N, St. Albans.
The Eleanor Christmas parade will start at 6 p.m.
The Fraziers Bottom Church of God, 19064 Winfield Road, will be Christmas caroling around Fraziers Bottom neighborhoods starting at 6 p.m.
Mountain State Christian School, 1948 Martin Lane, Culloden, will be hosting a play called “The Living Nativity” at 7 p.m.
Generation Putnam will hold their monthly meet-up at 8 a.m. at Area 34, 971 West Virginia Route 34, Teays Valley.

There will be a Bible art journaling class from 10 a.m. to noon at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane. The cost per session is $10.

DECEMBER 18 – 22
There will be a youth performance clinic at Ignite Performance Training, 3542 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane. It costs $80 for the camp or drop in $20. To pay and register, call 724-531-8880.

DECEMBER 18
The Loan Oak Church of God Mission, 1303 McLane Pike, Red House, will be holding a Christmas play at 7 p.m.
There will be cocoa with Santa from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bancroft Park gazebo.
There will be a Christmas parade along Route 817 in Winfield. Line up at 5 p.m.; parade at 6 p.m.
Wreaths Across America is coming to the Eleanor Cemetery, 305 Ivywood Street, Eleanor, at 11:55 a.m.
Santa Claus will be driving around Eleanor with the Eleanor Fire Department starting at 9 a.m.
Cavalry Baptist Church, 3653 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be hosting a food pantry from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 121 Mill Road, Hurricane, will be holding a Christmas giveaway for children from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be free horse and carriage rides from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hurricane. Meet at the gazebo on Main Street.

DECEMBER 19
The Tri State Exotic Animal Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the India Center, 800 Green Road, South Charleston.
The Nitro Church of the Nazarene, 1400 Sattes Circle, Nitro, will be holding a Children’s Christmas Play called “Hark, The Not So Heavenly Choir.”
Grace Life Church, 93 Joy Lane, Culloden, will be putting on a Christmas drama at 10 a.m.
Creekside Church, 2530 Charleys Creek Road, Culloden, will be holding a Christmas celebration at 11 a.m.
St. Timothy’s in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, 3434 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be holding a Christmas concert with the Hurricane Community Band at 2 p.m.
The First Baptist Church of Hurricane, 2635 Main Street, will be holding a Merry Little Game Night at 6:30 p.m.

DECEMBER 20
There will be a ladies’ Christmas paint party from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Harvest Chapel, 402 Main Avenue, Nitro. The cost is $5. To register, go to www.paypal.me/HarvestChapel

DECEMBER 22
Lone Oak Church of God Mission, 1303 McLane Pike, Red House, will be holding an outdoor live nativity starting at 7 p.m. Dress for the weather.
Miss West Virginia Junior Teen will be holding a Christmas card making workshop at 2 p.m. at the Buffalo Library. Cards will be distributed to Hospice Care centers and nursing homes.

DECEMBER 24
The Pulse Winfield church, 5368 State Route 34, will be holding a Christmas Eve candlelight communion service at 4 p.m.
