The City of Hurricane issued certificates of recognition to members of the Calvary Baptist Girls Basketball Team at its March council meeting.

The team made history by winning the 2022 WVCAT (West Virginian Christian Athletic Tournament) and finished the season with a perfect 17-0 record. Eighth grader Camden Hayslett was All Tournament MVP, Phala Puckett was All Tournament 8th Grader, and Ava Smith was All Tournament 7th Grader. Head Coach is Debbie Lore. Asstant Coaches are Kaitlyn Richards, Ashlynn Bowles, and Sydney Facemyer. Team Manager is Brenna Smith.

Team members are Natalie Whitt, Emma Vaughan, Anna Starcher, Caroline Young, Camden Hayslett, Phala Puckett, Lorelei Cregut, Madison Barnes, Madeline Toler, and Ava Smith.
