Community Calendar for Week of April 21

MONDAYS
There is a free Zumba class at Valley Park in Hurricane starting at 5:30 p.m.

TUESDAYS NOW – MAY 24
There will be a free community Bible Study on Tuesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. and Bible art journaling from 10 a.m. to noon at My messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane.

WEDNESDAYS NOW – MAY 25
There will be workshops every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane. Create seasonal decore, wreaths, signs, paint pouring, crochet, cards, jewelry, and more.

THURSDAYS NOW – MAY 19
There will be home school arts and crafts classes from 1 to 2 p.m. at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $5 per participant.

FRIDAYS NOW – MAY 20
There will be crafts for toddlers from 10 a.m. to noon at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $5.
There will be Friday Crafternoon classes for children from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane. Ages 4 and up. The cost is $5-10 per participant.

APRIL 22 – 23
There will be a vintage market and spring fling from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Saving Vintage, 401 Midland Trail, Hurricane.

APRIL 23
There will be a +FUSION Youth Rally at 6:30 p.m. at Faith Christian Fellowship, 54 Krystal Lane, Buffalo.
The West Virginia Food Truck Festival will be held form noon to 5 p.m. at the Eleanor Park (Putnam County Fairgrounds).
Elk River Boots and Saddle Club will be hosting their 6th Annual Kickin’ N Spring at the Winfield Riding Club facility starting at 10 a.m.
There will be a gospel sing at 6 p.m. at the Poplar Fork Independent Church of God, 353 Poplar Fork Road, Scott Depot.
The Food Dude presents: Healthy Earth, Healthy You! from 11 a.m. to noon at the Putnam County Library in Teays Valley. Plant seeds and make seed bombs.
The 4th Annual SpectRUN & AU-SOME Family Fun Day, hosted by Community Autism Resources & Education Systems, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hurricane City Park. 5K/10K trail race at 10 a.m.; family walk/run at 12:30 p.m.
The Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Ave., will be holding a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding a Daddy & Me Mother’s Day crafting event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call (309) 912-3191.

APRIL 24
The West Virginia Treble Makers will be having a concert at 2 p.m. at St. John United Methodist Church, 4536 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot.
Cavalry Baptist Church, 3653 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be hosting a food pantry from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Doodlin Roo will be hosting Painting with Friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Belknap Dough Company, Main Street, Hurricane. To reserve a spot, call (304) 678-5531.

APRIL 27
Wild & Weird West Virginia will be the special guest at a paranormal discussion group meeting at 6 p.m. at the St. Albans Historical Society, 404 4th Avenue, St. Albans. There is a $10 suggested donation.

APRIL 28
There will be a fundraiser for the Winfield Marching Band at Husson’s Pizza in Teays Valley from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
There will be a seminiar on “The Lake of Caregiving: Swim, Don’t Sink” at 5:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Library in Teays Valley.

APRIL 29 – 30

APRIL 30
Stinkfest will be held at the Wild Ramp, 555 14th Street W, Huntington, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This day-long festival will feature ramp dishes from The Wild Ramp Harvest Kitchen as well as other local food businesses.
The Women’s Club of Dunbar will be holding a craft/vendor show and hot dog sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the club house located at 323 14th Street, Dunbar.
There will be a multi-family rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 246 Shawnee Estates, Winfield.
The 2022 Kickoff Cash Days Drag Race will start at 4 p.m. at the back of the Liberty Square plaza in Teays Valley across from Big Lots. Visit the Kanawha Valley No Prep RC Drag Racing group on Facebook.
