MONDAYS
There is a free Zumba class at Valley Park in Hurricane starting at 5:30 p.m.

MAY 27 – 29

MAY 28
There will be a Hurricane 100k Course Preview and Group Training Run Presented by Little Caesars at 7 a.m. at Meeks Mountain Trails at Hurricane City Park.
The 2022 Miss WV Cupcake Festival Pageant will start at 5 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. For more information, go to wvcupcakefestival.com The Hurricane Sprayground will be opening for the season. Hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

MAY 29
The Buffalo PraiseFest will be coming to the Buffalo City Pavillion Park at 4:30 p.m.The Townesmen Quartet, Eventide, and Kingdom Road Trio will be performing.
Buffalo United Methodist Church, located in the Buffalo Historic Square on Route 62, Buffalo, will be having a special Patriotic Memorial Service beginning at 9:45 a.m.

MAY 30
American Legion James E. Marshall Post 187 will be holding a Memorial Day program at 10 a.m. at the Putnam County War Memorial beside the Winfield bridge; at 11:45 a.m. at Valley View Cemetery in Hurricane; and 2 p.m. at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Red House.

MAY 31
The Putnam County Virtual Un-Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. Email [email protected] for the link.

JUNE 2
There will be an informative session entitled “How Do I Afford Senior Care? Funding Resources and Options” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Library.
The So-Kai Kidz Clubhouse will be hosting a You’re One In a Melon paint night at 6 p.m. at the Commons building at Valley Park. The cost is free; ages 4 to adult. Register by going to www.sokaiclubhouse.com

JUNE 3 – 4
The Buffalo Church of God, Route 62 and Church Street, will be hosting a yard sale starting at 8 a.m.

JUNE 3
The So Kai Kidz Clubhouse will be holding a ladies’ craft night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Putnam County Commons at Valley Park in Hurricane. Register by going to www.sokaiclubhouse.com The first Food Truck Friday of the season will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the gazebo on Main Street, Hurricane. There will be an evening edition from 4 to 8 p.m. with live music.

JUNE 4 – 5
The Huntington Comic and Toy Convention will be held at the Mountain Health Arena in Huntington. For more information, go to www.huntingtoncomiccon.com West Virginia Health Right, in cooperation with Remote Area Medical (RAM), will host a free two-day clinic offering medical, dental and vision care to the public at Bible Center School at 1111 Oakhurst Drive in Charleston. JUNE 4
The Nitro Citywide Yard Sale will be held from 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Town of Bancroft will be holding a citywide yard sale starting at 8 a.m.
The Sweet Buy and Bye Shoppe, Route 62, Buffalo, will be holding their 5th year anniversary celebration starting at 11 a.m. Thoz Guyz will be performing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be a homeschool cirriculum swap from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane.
Lee’s Studio of Dance will be holding a 20th anniversary show at Valley Park in Hurricane. Doors open at noon; showtime is at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.

JUNE 5 – 9
Cavalry Baptist Church, Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be hosting Monumental Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. nightly.

JUNE 8
The Ezekiel Project, Winfield United Methodist Church, and St John United Methodist Church will be holding a Community Block Party at 4 p.m. at the Teays Valley Kroger.

JUNE 10
There will be a West Virginia American Water Fitness Friday walk on the trails at the Putnam County Fairgound in Eleanor starting at 10 a.m.
There will be a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce at Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Teays Valley.
