NORMA L. CHILDERS
Norma L. Childers, 93, of Eleanor, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was a longtime member of the Eleanor Presbyterian Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She will be remembered as “Granny” to everyone.
Born October 9, 1928 in Wetzel County she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Julia Kendall. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Harold Childers; sister, Verna Potts; brothers, Charles Kendall, Wallace Kendall and two infant brothers; son-in-law, Dane Casto.
Survivors include her daughters, Lynda Casto of Eleanor, Dona (Bill) Garrison of Parkersburg, Neda (Tom) Schmader of Eleanor; son, Kevin (Allison) Childers of Eleanor; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her special nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Beech Grove Cemetery, Eleanor, with Pastor John Hudson officiating.

CHARLES FACEMYRE
Charles Facemyre, 60, of Fraziers Bottom, passed away at home on June 4, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Heather Facemyre and parents James Facemyre Sr. and Marguerite Facemyre. Survived by his 2 daughters – Tawnya and Lindsay Facemyre (Wesley Moore), 2 grandchildren – Arionna Krebs, Joel Bowling, Brother- James Facemyre Jr, Sister- Tamara Facemyre, many friends, family, customers, and coworkers.
A tribute to the life of Charles was held Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Haven of Rest Memory Gardens, Red House.

VIVIAN DOVE HASH
Vivian Dove Whitlock Hash, 90, of Bancroft, passed away June 6, 2022.
Dove was born in Plymouth, West Virginia, on July 3, 1931, the youngest daughter of Lawrence “Jaybird” Whitlock and Julia Hall Whitlock. She lived all her life in Putnam County, graduating from Poca High School in 1949. She lived in Bancroft since 1949.
Dove was an avid bowler, and past member of C.W.B.A., board of directors, a Baptized member of Bancroft Church of God Mission since 1962. And attended most of her early life there.
Dove was a retired employee of Diagnosis Labs, Rocke and Rocke Bio-medical labs and retired from Lab Corporation of America, Burlington, NC, working from South Charleston Branch office. She served hospitals and doctors through Logan, Boone, Mingo and Lincoln Counties for 22 years. She loved her job and the offices she served. She loved being a housewife, caring for her husband of 58 years and loving the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dove is preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Sonny” Hash Jr.; sons, Timothy Carlin and Scott Andrew Hash; father, Lawrence “Jaybird” Whitlock; mother, Julia Hall Whitlock; sisters, Margueritte Millerand Helen Painter; paternal grandparents, James and Jacovah Elkins Whitlock; maternal grandparents, Jou and Aurelia Marshall Hall.
She is survived by niece, Janet Sigman and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Chapman Funeral Home, Winfield, with Pastor James Legg officiating. Burial was in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House.

SANDRA LEE HOGAN
Sandra “Sandy” Lee Hogan, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at CAMC Memorial Hospice Unit on May 28, 2022. She lived most of her life in Hurricane, and several years in Wilmington, NC. At the time of her passing, she was living with her daughter, Vera Standish, in Nitro. She was a loving mother and a friend to many. She was well known in Hurricane and the surrounding area for her wonderful and compassionate care as a certified home health aide for over 30 years, caring for her patients through illnesses until their passing.
A talented artist, she loved sharing her paintings with family and friends. She was a fabulous baker and cook, often feeding family, friends and neighbors with her wonderful pies and other homemade goods. Her homemade peanut brittle was legendary.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Eulalah V. Vaught, of Lafayette, IN; her parents, Grover and Juanita Muston, also of Lafayette, IN; her son-in-law, Richard Standish of Nitro; her daughter, Gayle Allison Tipper of Wilmington, NC; granddaughter Leigh Anne Allison Richardson, of Wilmington, NC, and infant grandson, Richard Adam Standish of Nitro.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Vera Standish of Nitro; Lee Hogan of Beckley; Rae Anne Hogan (Charles Rosenecker) of Morgantown; son-in-law Larry Tipper of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Amanda Standish Gianola (John), Ashley Standish Conley (James), grandson-in-law Sean Richardson, Wesley Allison, Colin Rosenecker, Charlie Rosenecker, Deana Tipper, Andres Tipper and Jordan Tipper; great-niece Sarah Barnes (Matt), and great grandchildren, Jack, Luke, Henry, James, Raegan, Donovan, Gabby, Jaime, Nevaeh, Naylynn and Jazmyn.
Funeral was Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Pastor Steve Spangler, formerly of Wilmington, NC, officiating. Burial was in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

GEORGE LESTER LEWIS
George Lester Lewis, 71, of Hurricane, passed away on June 5, 2022, in CAMC Gen after an Extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Arlie Lewis and his wife Helen Lewis and sister Bernadine Lewis. He was a retired Long Haul Truck driver after many years. He is survived by twelve brothers and two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
His wishes were to be cremated and no services were to be held.

SHIRLEY SAUNDERS
Shirley “Shudd” Delbert Saunders, 93, of Rock Branch, passed a way on Thursday, June 2, 2022 after a short illness.
He was born on June 7, 1928 to the late Offie Allen and Hazel Orie Saunders.
Shirley worked as a self employed contractor for over 30 years. He loved his work and all the people he worked with. He retired from CAMC in maintenance. Shirley was also on the board at WV Home Mission for 35 years. He was a great father, grandfather and a good friend to everyone. Shirley also loved God with all his heart.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Jacqueline Pringle Saunders, who passed away in 2016; and his daughter, Dianna Frazier.
Shirley is survived by son David Saunders (Patty) of Nitro; sister, Yvonne Jones (John) of Teays Valley; granddaughters, Amy Postalwait (Chris) of St. Albans, Jennifer Wooten (Brett) of South Charleston; grandson, Anthony Mathes (Danielle) of Fraziers Bottom; and four great-grandchildren.
Ffuneral service was Monday, June 6, at West Virginia Home Mission, Nitro. Burial was in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

DANNY WYMER
Danny Wymer, 82, of Winfield, passed away peacefully at CAMC Hospice after a short illness on May 27, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his loving and sometimes annoying wife of 49 years, who he loved to the very end, Mona; his Father, Carl Wymer, and Mom, Irene Wymer; brother, Bill Wymer; and sisters, Doris Young and Lulu Mae Wymer.
He is survived by his son, Jay, and his wife, Elizabeth Wymer; grandchildren, Matt Wymer, Frankie Wilson, Lacey (Bruce) Kingery, Syerra (Chase) Arthur, Austin Davis and Taylor Davis; great-grandchildren, Elli, David and Emersyn; sisters-in-law, Midge Ball, Joyce (Tom) Loftis, and Dee Anne Wymer; also, too many to list, nieces and nephews; and his favorite little pup, Mini.
Danny was avid Pittsburgh Steelers Football and Cincinnati Reds Baseball Fan and coached Little League Baseball for over 18 years and he loved to camp. He was employed at, and retired from, AEP with 30 years’ service.
Danny wished to have no service and, following in his forever-giving wife’s footsteps, has donated his body for medical research at West Virginia University.
