Community Calendar for Week of June 30

MONDAYS THROUGH JULY 25
Community Autism Resources & Education Systems (CARES) will be hosting a Summer Social Group every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at Valley Park in Hurricane.

FRIDAYS THROUGHOUT SUMMER
Food Truck Friday will be held on Main Street, Hurricane, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

SATURDAYS THROUGH OCTOBER
The Putnam Farmers Market operates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field next to Exxon on Route 34 in Teays Valley.

JUNE 30 – JULY 4

JULY 1
Eleanor Movie Night: “The Sandlot” will be playing at 8:45 p.m. at the Eleanor Pool parking lot.
Fitness Friday: FairyTale Fitness will be coming to Valley Park in Hurricane at 10 a.m.
Little Fashionistas Play Date for children ages 2-7 will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the So-Kai Clubhouse at Valley Park in Hurricane. The cost per child is $25. For more information, visit www.sokaiclubhouse.com

JULY 2
The First Church of God of Hurricane, East Lynn Street, Hurricane (behind Dollar Tree), will be having a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

JULY 4
The Buffalo Fourth of July celebration will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a 5K run/walk at 8 a.m. The parade is at 1 p.m.
The 5th Annual Buffalo High School Football Boosters car show will start at 9 a.m.
The Hurricane 4th of July parade will be held at 2 p.m. There will be activities in city park from 3 to 8 p.m. Fireworks at 10 p.m.

JULY 5 – 8
First Baptist Church, Main Street, Hurricane, will be holding Food Truck Party Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly.

JULY 7 – 8
Dance Pawty with my Pet! – a two-Day Preschool Camp – will be held at Macholah Ballet, 6422 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot, from noon to 2 p.m. The cost is $60. For more information, visit the Macholah Ballet on Facebook.

JULY 8 – 16

JULY 8
The Nitro Antique Car Club will be holding a cruise in at 5 p.m. at 21st Street and 2nd Avenue in Nitro.
West Virginia American Water Fitness Friday: There will be yoga with Leslie Galvan of Moxie Fitness at 10 a.m. at the Eleanor Locks. Bring your own mat and water.
There will be a foam dance party for children ages 1-6 at the Foam Garage, 2716 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. There will be another party for children ages 7-14 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $8 per child.

JULY 9
The Salt and Light Food Pantry at Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road, will be giving out food from 9 a.m. to noon. Bring a photo ID.
There will be a free juggler show featuring David Cain and a spaghetti dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Teays Valley Church of God, 185 Connection Point, Scott Depot.

JULY 11 – 15
Mixed Up Masterpieces Camp for young artists ages 7-12 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $125. For more information, call (309) 912-3191.

Rock & Read featuring Tony M. Music will be coming to the Poca Library at 10 a.m. Children from infant to second grade can learn how to rock in this beginner music class.
