NOW – SEPTEMBER 11
The Charleston Ribfest will be held at Shawnee Park in Dunbar. Hours are Thursday and Friday 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday; and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

SEPTEMBER 9
The Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Avenue (near Dollar Tree), will be holding a Gospel Sing at 7 p.m. The featured group is the Believers Quartet.
There will be a foam dance party for children ages 1-6 at the Foam Garage, 2716 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $8 per child. For more information, call (681) 235-2603.

The South Charleston Arts & Crafts Mound Festival will be held at the Mound from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle, 114 Steele Street, Dunbar, will hold a flea market and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The 9th Annual Ride for Jesus will start at the Iron Horse Church, 120 Blackwood Avenue, Nitro. Registration at 10 a.m.; ride leaves at noon. For more information, call 304-550-1526 or 304-989-3926.
There will be a praise concert with Eddie Day at 11 a.m. at the Iron Horse Church, 120 Blackwood Avenue, Nitro, to kick off the 9th Annual Ride for Jesus.
The Nitro Antique Car Club will be holding a cruise in at 5 p.m. at 21st Street and 2nd Avenue in Nitro.

Midway United Methodist Church, located along Rt. 62, on 95 Sunliner Drive, just North of Eleanor, will be celebrating their 100th anniversary. Special services at 10 a.m. on Sunday, and evening services at 7 p.m. from Sunday through Wednesday.

American Legion Post 187 will be holding its annual 9/11 ceremony starting at 11:45 a.m. at the Putnam County Homecoming main stage.

SEPTEMBER 13
The Putnam County Library in Teays Valley will be holding UnBook Club at 5:30 p.m. This is a book club without the pressure to read a specific book. Discuss whatever you are reading.

SEPTEMBER 14
The Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley will be holding a Chess Club meeting for children ages 8-12 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

SEPTEMBER 16 – 17
The Dunbar Fall Festival will be held on 12th Street in Dunbar from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 1 to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Arts, crafts, food, entertainment, kids activities.

SEPTEMBER 16
The Master’s Trio will be performing at 6 p.m. at West Virginia Home Mission Church, 1128 Benamati Avenue, Nitro.
Bancroft Mission, 5936 Charleston Road, Bancroft, will be holding TODAH, a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Putnam County Solid Waste Authority will be hosting a shredding day from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Eleanor Park.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be holding Toast! at 8 a.m. at Area 34, 971 State Route 34, Teays Valley.
Food Truck Friday Evening Edition will start at 5 p.m. on Main Street, Hurricane. This event features live music.

Peoples Federal Credit Union of Nitro, 419 1st Avenue S, Nitro, will be holding a community shred day from 9 a.m. to noon.
Putnam County Solid Waste Authority will be hosting a shredding day from 9 a.m. to noon at the Poca Library.

There will be a tent revival with David Frazier at 6 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. on Monday through Thursday at the Red House Bible Church, 51 Warner Lane, Red House. Special singing nightly.

SEPTEMBER 18
The Rowseys will be performing at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Zion Church Homecoming in Fraziers Bottom. The church is located at 406 Mount Zion Road. Services start at 10 a.m.
There will be board games at the Hampton Inn in Teays Valley from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
