April’s Closet will be hosting a free clothing giveaway at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2440 US Route 60, Hurricane. Hours are 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The Bancroft Mission, 5936 Charleston Road, Bancroft, will be holding an outdoor movie night for middle school children and above starting at 6:30 p.m.

Freedom’s Promise Ministries, 19966 Winfield Road, Fraziers Bottom, will be hosting Gospel Gathering 2022 starting at 4 p.m. on Oct. 1 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 2.

Heritage Farm Museum and Village, 3300 Harvey Road, Huntington, will be holding a fall festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Greene Center, 10494 Charleston Road, Kenna, will be holding a harvest festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Nitro Citywide Yard Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Rock Branch Independent Church, 133 Cross Lanes Drive, Nitro, will be hosting Connecting With Our Community from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be free hot dogs and fun games.
Harvest Chapel, 402 Main Avenue, Nitro, will be holding a harvest festival with games, prizes, face painting and more from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Nitro Nazarene Fall Vendor & Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church located at 1400 Sattes Circle.

The Hurricane Harvest Festival will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Hurricane City Park.

OCTOBER 2
The West Virginia Reptile Expo will be held from 10 to 4 p.m. at West Virginia State University in Institute. Wear a costume and bring your candy bag. General admission is only $5. Kids 10 and under get in free!

OCTOBER 4
There will be a BLS CPR class for healthcare workers at the Putnam County EMS, 100 Emergency Lane, Winfield, from 5 to 10 p.m. The cost is $50. To sign up, call 304-586-0248.
The Pulse Church, 5368 West Virginia Route 34, will be holding a food pantry from 2 to 7 p.m.

OCTOBER 6 – 9
The Pumpkin Festival will be held in Milton.
The West Virginia Kids’ Consignment Sale will be held at the Valley Park Convention Center in Hurricane. Hours are Thursday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

OCTOBER 6 – 8
Eleanor’s Fall Town Wide Yard Sale will be happening at various locations throughout the town.

OCTOBER 6
There will be a job and training fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Area 34, 971 WV State Route 34, Teays Valley.
There will be a workshop on Taking the Madness Out of Medicare at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hurricane, located on Main Street.

OCTOBER 7 – 8

The Cross Lanes United Methodist Church Baby Love Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. Diapers and wipes will be provided. The church is located at 5320 Frontier Drive, Cross Lanes. For more information, call (304) 415-3194.
There will be a free tire collection day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at West Virginia Cashin Recyclables in Nitro. Limit 10 tires per person.
The Kanawha County Farm Bureau Fall Festival Horse Show will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Winfield Riding Club.
