The Putnam Farmers Market operates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field next to Exxon on Route 34 in Teays Valley.

OCTOBER 6 – 9
The Pumpkin Festival will be held in Milton.
The West Virginia Kids’ Consignment Sale will be held at the Valley Park Convention Center in Hurricane. Hours are Thursday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

OCTOBER 6 – 8
Eleanor’s Fall Town Wide Yard Sale will be happening at various locations throughout the town.

OCTOBER 6
There will be a job and training fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Area 34, 971 WV State Route 34, Teays Valley.
There will be a workshop on Taking the Madness Out of Medicare at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hurricane, located on Main Street.

OCTOBER 7 – 8
Tsubasacon, West Virginia’s Anime Convention, will be coming to the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center. For a list of events, go to https://tsubasacon.org

FOOTMAD will be holding an old time dance from 7 to 9 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1600 Kanawha Blvd E (corner of Elizabeth St), Charleston.
The Cross Lanes United Methodist Church Baby Love Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. Diapers and wipes will be provided. The church is located at 5320 Frontier Drive, Cross Lanes. For more information, call (304) 415-3194.
There will be a free tire collection day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at West Virginia Cashin Recyclables in Nitro. Limit 10 tires per person.
The Kanawha County Farm Bureau Fall Festival Horse Show will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Winfield Riding Club.

OCTOBER 8
The Sounds of Bluegrass will be at the Lion’s Club Octoberfest held on Red House Hill on Route 34 in Liberty near the Putnam and Jackson Line from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
Cross Lanes United Methodist Church will be hosting Touch-A-Truck from 3 to 5 p.m. Free snacks, with an opportunity for young and old alike to explore their favorite trucks and vehicles.
Salt and Light Food Pantry will be distributing food from 9 a.m. to noon at the Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road.
Walk with the dogs on the trails of the Putnam County Animal Shelter from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Avenue, will be holding a church-wide yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

OCTOBER 9

The Putnam County 4-H will be holding an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Eleanor Fire Station. Learn about 4-H and meet club leaders.

The 3rd Annual Trick or Neigh will start at 6 p.m. at Blessed Acres Farm, 4700 E. Mud River Road, Milton. Featuring horses dressed in costumes. Admission is $5.
The Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Avenue, will be holding their Second Friday Gospel Sing at 7 p.m.

OCTOBER 15 – 16
The Kanawha Rock and Gem Show will be held at the South Charleston Community Center, 601 Jefferson Road, South Charleston. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Nitro Antique Car Club will be holding a car show at the Nitro High School parking lot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Live music by Poser Joe at 11 a.m. Bring an unused toy for the club’s Toys for Tots program.
The Absten family will be making apple butter and hosting a vendor fair starting at 8 a.m. at 9430 Heizer Creek Road, Poca.
The Buffalo Octoberfest will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shoppers Circle in Buffalo.
The Putnam County Animal Shelter Halloween Pet Costume Contest & Fall Outdoor Market Fundraiser will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the shelter.
The Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene, 358 US Route 60, will be holding a Trunk or Treat at 4:30 p.m.
The Cops N Rodders Classic Car Club will be holding a cruise in at the Putnam County Bank Loan Center parking lot from 5 p.m. until dusk.

OCTOBER 16
Third Sunday Board Games will be held from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn conference room in Teays Valley.
