Community Calendar for Week of November 10

NOVEMBER 11
Riverside Cafe in Winfield will be holding a Veteran’s Day celebration party starting at 8 p.m. Featuring the Mello Fellos.
ShotFire Fitness, 1165 Midland Trail, Hurricane, will be offering a free workout at 9 a.m. in memory of Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson.
There will be a patriotic themed open craft class from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane. The cost is $5 per crafter.
The Hurricane First Church of God, 3225 East Putnam Ave., will be holding their monthly, second Friday Gospel Sing at 7 p.m.

NOVEMBER 12
The Woman’s Club of Dunbar will be holding a craft and vendor fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 323 14th Street, Dunbar.
The West Side Volunteer Fire Department, 256 Main Street, St. Albans, will be holding a Winter Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Santa’s Handmade Craft Expo and Bake Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Women’s Club of Nitro, 2205 2nd Avenue, Nitro.
There will be a women’s conference from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lone Oak Church of God Mission on Red House Hill.
The Salt and Light Food Pantry will be giving out food from 9 a.m. to noon at the Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road, Winfield.
There will be a showing of “Shrek” at 10 a.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.
Mt. Vernon Baptist’s Fall Harvest & Auction will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church located at 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane.

NOVEMBER 13
The West Virginia Reptile Expo will be held at West Virginia State University in Institute from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5.
There will be a Bridal Expo from 1 to 4 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Tickets are $5.
The Putnam County Farmers Market 2022 fall membership meeting will be held at 2 p.m. at Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Hurricane.
Third Sunday Board Games will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Hampton Inn in Teays Valley.

NOVEMBER 15
Putnam Career & Technical Center in Eleanor will be holding an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. for prospective students.
STEM: Liquid Stacking with Belle Chemical is an educational workshop for middle schoolers which will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Hurricane Branch Library. Participants can learn about lava lamps.

NOVEMBER 17
Bancroft Mission, 5936 Charleston Road, Bancroft, will be celebrating TODAH, a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, at 6:30 p.m.

NOVEMBER 18 – 20
The 53rd Capital City Art & Craft Show will be held at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday; and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $6 for adults and $2 for children under 12.

NOVEMBER 18
Kanawha Valley FOOTMAD (Friends of Old Time Music and Dance) is hosting its second community dance of the season from 7-10 p.m. at Hansford Center, 500 Washington Street, St. Albans.
The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be holding Toast! at 8 a.m. at Area 34, 971 State Route 34, Teays Valley.

NOVEMBER 19
Elizabeth Baptist Church, 410 Washington Street, Bancroft, will be hosting a Men’s Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. for men only.
The Winfield United Methodist Church, 20 Radwin Drive, will be hosting a Free Community Breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The Teays Valley Church of God Fall Fest will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church located at 185 Connection Point, Scott Depot. Local artisans and vendors.
There will be a food pantry at 8:30 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 3653 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.

Battle Ground Wrestling presents Fall of Saigon at 7 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Doors and concessions open at 6 p.m.

NOVEMBER 24
The Iron Horse Church, 120 Blackwood Avenue, Nitro, will be holding their 2nd Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner from 2 to 6 p.m.
The Bancroft Thanksgiving Parade will be held at 11 a.m. Meet at the baseball field on the corner of Jefferson St. and 3rd Avenue, proceed to 7th Avenue, and come back via Washington Street.
