STEVE J. “ACE” AKERS
Steve J. “Ace” Akers, 67, of Fraziers Bottom, passed away August 28, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center Huntington.
He was born on January 11, 1956 to the late Ward P. and Betty Jean Hudnall Akers in Point Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by family members.
Stevie was the epitome of the “Visiting Neighborly Guy”, who every Sunday after church would visit many people in the community that weren’t able to get out and go to church, so he would deliver the church bulletins. Ace loved his church family at Mount Union Church on Plantation Road/Jerrys Run Road and was there nearly every time the doors were open if he wasn’t sick.
Steve is survived by his uncle and caregiver of nearly 20 years: Russell (Alice) Akers; brother: Dallas (Lisa) Akers; niece: Amanda Akers; aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and a host of friends. As well as “Best Bud”: Jimmy (Tami) Ferguson.
