IMOGENE CALDWELL
Imogene “Jean” E. Caldwell passed away peacefully on December 2nd, 2023, surrounded by family at her home after a long illness. She was born on February 1st, 1930, to the late Millard and Jewell Thornton. She was married and preceded in death by Olen “Slim/Pete” Caldwell. She was also preceded in death by 8 siblings, Harold, Ines, Hazel, Ronald, Dorotha, Jane, Louise, and Jimmy, along with her great-grandson Olen James.
She is survived by her children Carl (Teresa) Caldwell, Barbara (Bud) Sovine, Ann Moore, Steve (Debbie) Caldwell and Christie Skinner. Her grandchildren, Angela, CD, Heather, Joshua, Travis, Nicki and Stephen. Great grandchildren, Porcha, Natasha, Jakeb, Zach, Nick, Skylar, Javin, Haven, Tyson, Rylee, Kierra, Easton and six great-great grandchildren.
Jean was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hurricane. She spent many years with the Hurricane High School Band booster concessions. She was a seamstress, made many beautiful quilts and raised beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. She always made sure her family and friends were taken care of.
Funeral service was Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Gilfilen officiating. Burial was in Allen-Caldwell Cemetery on the Caldwell Farm.

JUANITA COBB
Juanita M. Cobb, 92, of Leon, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She attended Barnett Chapel Church and several other churches in the area.
Born November 24, 1931 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Clint Higginbotham and Mamie Slater Higginbotham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rickey Lee Cobb Sr.; granddaughter, Melissa Sue Rollins; 6 brothers and 1 sister.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Brady Andrew Cobb; daughter Dorothy (Otis “Terry”) Rollins of Liberty; grandchildren, Crystal (Richie) Witt of Red House, April (Shad) DeHart of Huntington, Tina (Gary) Burkett of Martinsburg, Rickey (Tina) Cobb of Leon and Christy Jividen of Red House. Juanita is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Funeral service was Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Barnett Chapel Church, Liberty, with Pastor Carl “Mick” Bailes and Pastor Pete Cobb officiating. Burial was in Barnett Chapel Cemetery.

BOBBY GIBSON
Bobby Glenn Gibson, 82, of Culloden, went home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2023 at The Hospice House of Huntington.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bob was retired from Grief Brothers of Culloden. He was a former President of his local Steel Workers Union.
Bob was a Veteran of the US Army and a member of the 101st Airborne Division.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sollie and Freda Gibson.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Pam. His daughters Cathy (David) Meade, Lisa (Terry) Ellis, Errin (Scott) Ballard, and Carrie (Scott) Maynard; son Mark (Jennifer) Barker and sister Bonnie Fizer. Bob is also survived by numerous beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and other extended family.
Friends and Family gathered on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane. Graveside service, burial and with full military rights was at Forest Memorial Park in Milton.

Robert Glenn Grogg
Robert Glenn Grogg, 81, of Charleston, passed away on November 30, 2023.
He was born February 16, 1942 to the late Orval Glenn and Iva Myrtle Grogg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Mary Waugh.
Bob served in Ministry for over 40 years and was a member of the Fraziers Bottom Church of God since 1989.
Left to cherish his memory his loving wife: LeAnn Grogg; son: Scott Grogg (Heidi) of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren: Heather Patterson (Aaron) of Clarkesville, GA and Kimberly Koepf (Luke) of Gagetown, MI; one great granddaughter, Emmalyn Patterson; and sisters: Jean Bell of Clarksburg, WV and Velma Shock of Weston, WV.
Funeral service for Bob was Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.

Edna Lewis
Edna Mae Lewis, 76, of Hurricane, went home with the Lord peacefully at home with her loving family by her side after a short terminal illness.
Edna was born in Winfield in 1947 to Gordon and Irene Erwin. Before retiring, she was an amazing head cook at a local nursing home, in which she enjoyed so much. Edna enjoyed life to the fullest. Her most favorite time spent was always with her family, camping, fishing, playing cards, cornhole and singing. Edna was always laughing and enjoying herself no matter the situation. She could make anyone laugh. Edna loved her grandkids and great grandkids with everything in her, she always lit up when they came in the room.
Edna was proceeded in death by her parents Gordon and Irene Erwin, husband James E. Lewis, Son James E. Lewis II, Sisters Reba Black, Ruth Young, And Donna McKneely Along with many special nieces and nephews.
Edna is survived by her children Sherri Lewis (Basil), Joe Lewis (Kelly) and Joyce Miller (Ronnie). Her loving Grandkids Beth Shull, Josh Lewis (Bradie), Macey Mooney (Tyler), Austin Lewis, Riley Miller and Gracie Miller. Very special great grandkids Abel and Saylor Mooney, Catalina Hunt. Her loving sisters Yvonne Lanham (Jimmy Setliff) and Joyce Young (CD). Her companion James Cochran and fur Grandbabies Ellie and Rudie.
Funeral Service was Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Preston Milan officiating. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park.

Eva M. McClanahan
Eva M. McClanahan, 76, of Buffalo, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at her home. She was a graduate of Buffalo High School.
Born October 4, 1947 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Barnett and Ivy Barnett Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy F. McClanahan Sr.; brothers, Kenneth R. Barnett and Robert Barnett; sister, Faye Buzzard.
Survivors include her sons, Roy F. McClanahan Jr. of Clendenin and Brian McClanahan of Buffalo; sisters, Betty Adkins of Red House and Barbara Luikart of Midway. Eva is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and extended family.
Graveside service was Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens, Red House, with Rev. Mark Harris officiating.

Shirley Jean Terry
Shirley Jean Terry, 88, of Hurricane, passed away on December 3, 2023 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington.
Shirley was born on July 20, 1935 in Winfield to the late William and Vennie Ball Meadows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years: Albert F. Terry; brothers: Bill and Gordie Meadows; and sisters: Rosalie Childers and Juanita Milbee.
She was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, and retired from Putnam County Bank.
She is survived by her daughter: Diana Hughes; grandchildren: Michael Maddox (Terra) and Angela Maddox; three great grandchildren: Brianna VanScoy (Jackson), Taylor Maddox and Austin Maddox; two great grandchildren: Ryker and David Jackson VanScoy. Shirley is also survived her brother-in-law‘s: Keith, Wayne and Greg Terry; sister in laws: Georgia Summers, Nellie Terry, Genevieve Wesley, Elizabeth “Libby” Hardison and Lynn Craig.
Funeral Services for Shirley was Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Hurricane, with Rev. Ron McClung and Dr. Lawrence Hoptry officiating. Entombment was in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
