Community Calendar for Week of March 27

SATURDAYS THROUGH MARCH

  • There will be a free open gym for 1st – 5th graders every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Zone Out Sports, located on Morris Court, just off Main Street in Hurricane.

THURSDAYS IN MARCH

  • March My Words: A Creative Writing Workshop will be held every Thursday in March from 10 a.m. to noon at the Poca Library.

  • Historical Square Community Church, 20058 Buffalo Road, Buffalo, will be showing the movie “The Passion of the Christ” at 7:30 p.m. Hot dogs will be available for sale at 7 p.m.

Buffalo Methodist Church, located at 27 High Street, Buffalo, will be holding a special Sunday evening service at 7 p.m. featuring special singing by Faith’s Promise.

APRIL 1

  • The Poca Library will be playing the movie “The Parent Trap” at 6 p.m.
  • Smokey the Bear will be visiting the Eleanor Library at 10 a.m.
  • There are free line dancing lessons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings at Brookse’s Bar and Grill, 13184 Winfield Road, Winfield.
  • The Pallet Bar, 3999 Teays Valley Drive, Suite A, Scott Depot, will be holding 90’s Country Singo Bingo starting at 7 p.m.

APRIL 2

  • The Eleanor Library will be handing out kits to make your own solar system at home. Pick up a kit between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Sergio’s Cucina Italiana and Steaks, 2801 Main Street, Hurricane, will be hosting Grey’s Anatomy trivia starting at 7 p.m.

APRIL 3

  • There will be a herbal tea garden demo at 6 p.m. at Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane. Admission is $5. Learn how to grow your own herbal tea garden.

APRIL 4

  • The Tribute Quartet will be performing at 7 p.m. at Emma Chpael Church, 15623 McLane Pike, Liberty.
  • The Putnam County Library is hosting a birdwatching at the Eleanor wildlife sanctuary. Meet at the trailhead on Eagle Drive near the Armory and locks in Eleanor at 9 a.m.

APRIL 5

  • There will be a spring craft show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greene Center, 10494 Charleson Road, Kenna.
  • Beauty For Ashes – A Women’s Ministry Encounter will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Niro Church of God, 15th Street and 2nd Avenue, Nitro.
  • There will be a beginner crochet class at 1 p.m. at Bake My Day, 14 Bank Street, Nitro. The cost is $20 per person.
  • There will be a parking lot sale/flea market to benefit the Zoology Zone from 6 a.m. to noon at the Putnam County Bank Loan Center parking lot in Hurricane.
