The Tooth Fairy is bringing a formalwear pop-up shopping event to Hamlin, but it won’t cost you your teeth to buy from her.
The Tooth Fairy’s Closet will be open on Saturday, April 12, at The Nancy, 8049 Court Avenue, Hamlin, from 1 to 7 p.m. The closet currently has over 200 prom, homecoming, formal, bridesmaid, and special occasion dresses, as well as over 65 pairs of shoes. There will also be a wedding dress raffle (dress is size 10).
The creator of the Tooth Fairy’s Closet is Sarah Deleon, a dental hygienist from Hurricane who practices in Hamlin and other locations. “I got the idea because I had patients talking to me about how difficult it is being able to afford things nowadays. Working in a rural community, I also know how hard it can be for apeople to get out of the town. So I got to thinking that I could very well have patients who aren’t able to attend the events because they can’t afford to go. So I have been collecting dresses to bring to the town for a pop-up event.”
Sarah would like to do other events throughout the year as well, such as a back-to-school event featuring clothing and backpacks, a children’s clothing and toy event in the summer, and a winter formal event.
“The idea is to save people money and support local because I got most of my dresses second hand from very generous women,” Sarah explains.
With over 200 dresses in a variety of sizes, the Tooth Fairy’s Closet features a large selection of formalwear options for prom season, as well as special occasion dresses for all the graduation ceremonies and celebrations which will be held at the end of the school year. Dresses range from $5 to $75; shoes $5-25; and purses $5-20. Cash payments are preferred.
