Children enjoy the frantic search for Easter eggs.
A stampede of candy crazed children galloped over the field behind the Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene in search of eggs during the church’s annual egg hunt this past Saturday, April 12.
Over 4,000 eggs – a thousand more than last year’s event – were scattered over two designated areas, one for children ages 0 – 5 and one for ages 6 and up. Each egg contained a prize of candy, toys, or money. The egg hunt was open to all in the community.
After all the eggs were found and gathered up, children and their families could enjoy roasting hot dogs at a stone fire pit. There were also games, inflatables, and other amusements.
The Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene will be holding a special Son Rise service on Easter Sunday at Valley Park at 7 a.m. Easter Sunday services will begin at 10:40 a.m. at the church.
