NOW THROUGH THE END OF OCTOBER

  • The Putnam County Farmer’s Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field beside Exxon, across from the Putnam County Library in Teays Valley.
  • The County Roads Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

NOW – JUNE 14

  • The Gambill Amusements Carnival presented by Hurricane Fire & Rescue will be held at Hurricane High School.

  • Fraziers Bottom Church of God will be holding Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly.

JUNE 13 – 14

  • YakFest 2025 will be held on Main Street in St. Albans. Music, vendors, kayaks, craft beer, ribs and more. This event is held in conjunction with the Tour de Coal. Paddle all day, dance all night. For more information, go to https://yakfestwv.com

  • The Great American Petting Zoo will be coming to the Poca Supermarket from noon to 7 p.m.
  • Heartbeat in the Valley, 28 Mission Way, Scott Depot, will be holding a summer reading program for ages 8 – 9 from 10 to 11 a.m., and ages 10 – 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. RSVP by calling (681) 235-2097.
  • The Putnam County Chamber Network of Women Blood Drive will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Teays Valley.
  • Fitness Friday: There will be Zumba at 10 a.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Meet up at the large shelter for this Putnam Library sponsored event.

JUNE 14

  • The West Virginia Farm Museum, 1458 Fairground Road, Point Pleasant, will be holding a bracket tractor pull starting at 11 a.m.
  • The 2025 Tour De Coal, the nation’s largest flatwater kayak event, will start at 9 a.m. at Meadowood Park in Torando.   • Kingdom Life Fellowship Church, 405 1st Avenue S, Nitro, will be giving away bread and milk every second Saturday of the month at 9 a.m.
  • The Poca High School Alumni Dinner/Dance will start at 5 p.m. at the Poca High School. Tickets are $25 per person and include dinner and a dance with the band Legend.
  • The Rivers to Ridges Heritage Trail organization will be hosting a family fun day from 2 to 7 p.m. in the field across from the Eleanor Pool.
  • Get Hooked Bait and Tackle Shop, 12210 Winfield Road, Winfield, will be celebrating their four year anniversary starting at 9 a.m.
  • The Winfield High School Band Boosters will be holding a benefit car wash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Winfield Advance Auto Parts.

  • The Baker Reunion will start at noon at Shelter 1 at Valley Park in Hurricane.
  • The Porsche and Exotic Car Social will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. The public is welcome to view the cars.
  • Lighthouse Baptist Church, located on Route 60, Hurricane, will be holding a food pantry from 9 to 11 a.m.

  • The First Baptist Church of Eleanor, 901 Roosevelt Blvd., will be holding Rocket Racers Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. nightly.

  • Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church, 5839 Scyamore Road, Hurricane will be holding a Father’s Day Taste Testing starting at noon. Featuring soups, salads, and sandwiches.

JUNE 16 – 21

  • The First Baptist Church of Eleanor, 901 Roosevelt Road, will be holding Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. nightly.
  • There will be a Clear the Clutter Goodwill fundraiser for Hurricane Nazarene Youth. Bring clothing and small household donations to the trailer at the Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene, located on Route 60.

JUNE 16 – 20

  • Buffalo Church of the Nazarene, 25053 Buffalo Road, will be holding Everyday Heroes Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:3 p.m. nightly.
  • Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church, 5839 Scyamore Road, Hurricane, will be holding True North Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8 p.m. nightly.
  • Bethel Baptist Church, located on Hurricane Creek Road, will be holding Vacation Bible School. Dinner at 6 p.m. with classes for all ages, including adults, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. nightly.

  • Batman will be coming to the Buffalo Library at 10 a.m.
  • There are free line dance classes every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Brookse’s Bar and Grill, 13184 Winfield Road, Winfield.

  • Arclin Amines will be discussing Colors in Space at 10:30 a.m. at the Nitro Library, 1700 Park Avenue.
  • There will be a sidewalk chalk party from 9 a.m. to noon at the Poca Library.

  • Friends of Buffalo WV History will gather together at 7 p.m. at the Historical Square Community Church. The subject of the meeting is “The Father of Buffalo,” Benjamin K. Craig.
