Hurricane High School captured if 5th State Championship on Saturday, June 7, by defeating Morgantown by a score of 6-1. The Redskins topped Hedgesville by a 5-3 margin in the semi-final game on Friday.

Hurricane became the first ever champion of the newly created AAAA classification The school’s previous four state championships (2002, 2014, 2018, and 2022) were in the WVSSAC Class AAA division.
