Summer Brings Increased Offerings At Country Roads Farmers Market

The offerings at Country Roads Farmers Market at Valley Park are about to multiply in rapid fashion. The market opened in early May with vendors selling home-produced needlework, crafts, eggs, and baked goods. While greens, radishes and plants (both garden and flowers) have been available, the ready to process fruits and veggies which are usually ready for picking in late May and early June have been delayed by cooler than normal seasonal temperature readings.

Beginning this Saturday (the market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays), new potatoes, carrots, zucchini, and tomatoes will be added to the selection list. It is also likely that Putnam produced blueberries will be on sale.

Vendors also have fresh meats (chicken, beef, pork and lamb) for sale.
