SHIRLEY LEWIS-HALL
Shirley Anne O’Neill Lewis-Hall, 86, of Scott Depot, entered her Heavenly Home, June 17, 2025 after a long, beautiful life.
She was born on March 5, 1939, to the late Hugh and Elsie O’Neill in Niagara Falls, NY. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by: Stephen William Hall, Keith “John” Lewis and her children: John Gregory Lewis and David Keith Lewis; and brothers: Dennis O’Neill and Eugene O’Neill.
She moved to West Virginia as a teenager, received her Bachelors of Nursing from West Virginia University, and Masters in Management/Healthcare Administration from West Virginia Graduate College. She held many titles throughout her career in healthcare, including: Nurse, Director of Nursing Administration, Education Instructor, Director of Central Service, Clinical Systems Coordinator, Clinical Analyst, Product Specialist, Senior Healthcare Systems Consultant, and Support Analyst. Shirley was a founding member of the Department of Homeland Security and a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.
In addition to her remarkable career, Shirley had an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed roller disco, traveling, white water rafting, and drag racing. She was a proud member of the Mountain Mommas. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-figure, and friend. After her retirement, she loved spending her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her children: Steven Edward Lewis of Roanoke, WV, and Charles “Chuck” Wesley Lewis (Connie) of Culloden; her “5th child,” Brian Limer of Cross Lanes; grandchildren: Jordan Elizabeth Craigo (Samuel) of Charleston, and Rachel Anne Townsend (Adam) of Hurricane; great-grandchildren: Noah David Townsend, Liliosa Anne Townsend, Asher Tolkien Craigo, Zion Tucker Craigo and Charlie Rae Townsend; siblings: Sharon Burgess of Jefferson, Patricia Wilson of Detroit, MI, George O’Neill of Longs, SC; as well as several nieces and nephews. Shirley was blessed with many bonus family members including: Judy Raflores, Leo Amparo, Judyanne Amparo, Mark Hall, Bruce (Sandy) Hall, Alyssa Lynn Hall, Heather Hall Jorgensen (Gregory), Gregory “Ory” Heath Jorgensen, Oliver Vincent Jorgensen, Evan (Brooke) Hall, Liam Hall, Minnie Jones, Barbara Adkins, and Janet Canterbury.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley was held Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Ascension Catholic Church in Hurricane.

THOMAS HOMER MARTIN SR.
Thomas Homer Martin Sr, 81, of Hurricane, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025. Born in Floyd County, Indiana, on January 24, 1944, Tom lived a life marked by service, devotion, and quiet strength.
Tom proudly served his country as a computer technician in the United States Air Force and continued his career in the civilian sector with the same diligence and dedication. A man of many talents, he found great joy in woodworking, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for nature, the satisfaction of a well-maintained firearm, and the quiet rewards of a job well done.
Above all, Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Janice Lou Martin, and was the proud father of Thomas Homer Martin Jr., Rickie Clark, and David Clark. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Desirae, Shayna, Jeffery, Ciarra, Tyler, and Ayden, and welcomed his daughters-in-law—Marilyn, Melody, and Shally—into his heart as part of the family.
Tom’s legacy is one of steadfast love, quiet wisdom, and unwavering faith. He believed in the power of family, the importance of hard work, and the comfort of God’s grace. He was a man who could fix almost anything, build something beautiful from wood, and offer strength just by being near.
A graveside service honoring Tom’s life was held June 20, 2025, at Center Point Cemetery in Liberty, West Virginia.

BETTY EGGLETON MUSTONEN
Betty Eggleton Mustonen, 79, of Scott Depot, passed away on June 16, 2025 at Oakridge Center in Charleston.
Betty was born November 7, 1945, in South Charleston, to the late C. F. “Frank” and Ruth Childers Eggleton.
She was a 1963 graduate of Winfield High School, a 1967 graduate of West Virginia State University and a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her brother, Robert “Bob” Eggleton (Joyce) of Flemingsburg, KY; two nephews: Jerry Eggleton (Jody) of Newark, OH and Mike Eggleton (Leigh) of White Hall; one niece, Kelly Eggleton of Louisville, KY; three great nieces: Holly Eggleton of Cleveland, OH, Carley Ponce (Simon) of Columbus, OH and Allie Eggleton of White Hall, AR.
Funeral Service for Betty was Monday, June 23, 2025 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Rev. Dr. Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial was in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Hurricane.

TIMOTHY L. PRICE
Timothy L. Price, 74, of Leon, walked into his Lord’s arms on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his home with his wife and daughter holding his hands. He was the son of the late Lewis B. Price and Iona Price Thornton, and step-son of Rockford Thornton. Tim was a Christian, and a member of First Baptist Church of Eleanor.
He leaves behind his wife, Ethel “Sissy” Price; his sons, Christopher (Lisa) Price, and Caleb (Chloe) Price; daughter, Vicky (Matthew) White, who was a wonderful caregiver and support to Tim & Sissy throughout his illness; his step-son, Patrick Adkins; his granddaughters, Angel, Megan, and Brandy Moore, and Willow Price; his grandsons, Damion Price, and “the apple of his eye” Liam and his mother, Sarah Price; one great-grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside service was Friday, June 20, 2025 at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens, Red House, with Pastor David Panaro, Jr. officiating. Entombment was in the Memory Gardens.

LUKE ROBINSON SKYLES
Luke Robinson Skyles, 15, of Scott Depot, passed away on June 12, 2025.
He was born to Stevie Lee Jr. and Kimberly S. Jones Skyles on November 14, 2009 in Hurricane.
Luke enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as helping others especially the animals at home, and his love of Bible Study was his favorite.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan Skyles.
In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by his sisters: Heidi Skyles at home and Haley Jones of Tornado; grandparents: Steve and Terri Skyles of Milton, Bruce and Cindy Jones of Washington Courthouse, OH, and Connie and Greg Martin of Culloden; aunt and uncle: Tara and Danny Parsons of Hurricane and their children: Carter and Logan; and cousin, Caleb Tinsley, all of Hurricane; as well as many other family members.
Funeral service for Luke was Thursday, June 19, 2025 at The Crossing Baptist Church, St. Albans, with Pastor Stan Smith officiating. Burial was in Rosemont Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.

DAVID LEE SNYDER
David Lee Snyder, 56, of Winfield, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at home.
David was a jack of all trades, from moving homes, driving truck, plumbing, auto mechanic, to laying block; he could do it all. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, camping, working on his truck, and being outdoors.
He was born in Charleston on March 10, 1969, to the late Albert Junior and Iva Mae Snyder.
He is survived by his greatest love, his daughter, Emma’Lee Snyder. He is also survived by his sister Anna Johnson and her husband Greg, brother Steven Snyder and his wife Tamera, nieces Rachel and Sarah, and a host of other family and friends.
A tribute to the life of David was held Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Hanna officiating.

GARY WAYNE WYMER
Gary Wayne Wymer, 74, of Eleanor, passed away on June 12, 2025 at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Kanawha City.
Gary was retired and had worked in the construction business, trucking and heavy equipment industry.
He was born on March 6, 1951 to the late Edward and Erma Holcomb Wymer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: Donald, Paul Eddie, Norma Hatcher, and Mae Lee Watson.
Gary is survived by his children: Mary Elizabeth Henry (Anthony) of Richmond, KY, Caleb Wymer of Winfield, and Roxanne Wymer of Wyoming; grandchildren: Madison Elizabeth Henry of Richmond, KY, two other children from a previous marriage, Christina and Sierra of Winfield, and their children, Trenton, Raleigh, Morgan and Autumn. Gary also formed a special bond with Leland, 6, of Winfield; siblings: Jimmy Wymer (Belinda) of Scott Depot, David Wymer (Janie) of Fraziers Bottom, Ruthann Hayzlett of Red House, Ron Wymer of Scott Depot, Doris Arthur of Marlinton, Rick Wymer of Grover, NC and Karen Wymer of Winfield.
Funeral service for Gary was Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Rev. Bill Wymer officiating. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park in Hurricane.
