Blowing Bubbles for Kid’s Night at Valley Park Night Market

Children were encouraged to dress up like pirates or princesses during Kids Night at Valley Park’s Night Market on Thursday, June 26. Local character performers and pageant queens were present at the event as well, giving out candy and treats, as well as posing for photographs.

Other fun activities for children included balloon animal creations, face painting, and a costume contest.

For the adults, there were plenty of local arts and crafts vendors to enjoy, as well as a variety of food truck selections.

Mild sprinkles caused momentary disruptions to the event, but the weather was nothing like the storm which hit Teays Valley the previous day. Wednesday’s storm caused wind damage throughout the park, with the portable stage being one of the casualties. Due to this, Southern Draw Band, the featured musical group for the evening, had to perform from beneath the pergola of the conference center.

The next Night Market will be held on Thursday, July 24, and will feature a luau theme.
