NOW – NOVEMBER 1

  • Fear on the Farm, 8325 Winfield Road, Winfield, is open for the season on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to midnight. For more information, call 681-203-3683.

NOW THROUGH THE END OF OCTOBER

  • The Putnam County Farmer’s Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field beside Exxon, across from the Putnam County Library in Teays Valley.
  • The County Roads Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

NOW – SEPTEMBER 20

  • The Nitro Antique Car Club Fall Swap Meet will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Winfield Riding Club.

SEPTEMBER 19

  • WVSU is offering a free AgriBusiness Workshop at Eleanor Library from 10 a.m. – noon.
  • Game Grove, located in Putnam Village Shopping Center in Teays Valley, will be holding a board game night from 6 to 10:30 p.m.
  • There will be a Back to School Bash High School Homeschool Dance from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Garage, 3057 Mt. Vernon Road, Hurricane. The cost is $20 per person. For more information, email theresakoon@gmail.com
  • The Wagenfolks VW Club will be holding a Bug Out Cruz-In for VW Bugs from 6 p.m. until dark at the Putnam County Bank parking lot behind McDonalds in Hurricane.

  • Huntington Old Time Music and Dance will hold their first dance of the season from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 520 11th Street, Huntington.
  • The Chesapeake and Ohio Historical Society will be holding their Train Day Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Albans Depot, 400 4th Avenue, St. Albans.
  • The All Horse Parade and Auction will be held in Buffalo; parade at noon, auction at 2 p.m.
  • There will be purse bingo to benefit the Nitro Showcats Show Choir at the high school – doors open at 3 p.m.; games start at 4 p.m. Tickets are $30 at the door.
  • Bake My Day, 14 Bank Street, Nitro, will be holding a women’s clothing swap from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring gently used clothing and trade them for something else.
  • Creekside Church, 488 Charleys Creek Road Culloden, will be holding Casting Hope, A Night of Worship and Testimony, from 5 to 10 p.m. Fishers of Men will be performing.
  • The Hurricane Harvest Festival will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. at Hurricane City Park.
  • Cops N Rodders Classic Car Club will be holding a cruise-in from 5 p.m. to dusk at the Putnam County Bank parking lot behind the Hurricane McDonalds.

SEPTEMBER 21

  • There will be a U Pick Fundraiser for Gavin Strong, who has neuroblastoma, from noon to 3 p.m. at Given Flower Company, 224 Pleasant Valley Road, Given.
  • Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene will be holding an all church picnic starting at 2 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.
  • Creekside Church, 488 Charleys Creek Road Culloden, will be holding Back to Church Sunday starting at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
  • Community Church, 212 Dudding Avenue, hurricane, will be holding a tailgate themed dinner and showing the movie “Jesus Revolution” at 5 p.m.

SEPTEMBER 23

  • There will be flu shots at the Eleanor Library from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • There will be a free line dancing class at 7:30 p.m. at Brookse’s Bar and Grill, 13184 Winfield Road, Winfield.

SEPTEMBER 24

  • Summer Nights and Open Mics will be held at Nitro Living Memorial Park, Second Avenue and 21st Street. There will be a pop-up market in addition to an open mic event for musicians, poets, and comedians. Stage opens at 7 p.m.
  • There will be flu shots at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • Overcome your fear of snakes with the Zoology Zone at 9 a.m. at the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Teays Valley.

SEPTEMBER 25

  • There will be flu shots at the Buffalo Library from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • Vandalia Backgammon Club will be holding weekly backgammon games from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Putnam Moose Lodge, located in Putnam Village Shopping Center. Open to the public.
  • The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will be holding Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pioneer Appalachia Credit Union, 3746 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane. RSVP by calling 304-757-6510.
  • There will be a homeschool science class featuring the WV DEP at 10 a.m. at the red barn at Hurricane City Park.
  • Murder and Merriment Misfits will be presenting a fundraiser for Kennie and Claire Bass from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, 2848 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane. Tickets are $40 for single and $75 for a couple. For tickets, call 304-691-0524.

  • Putnam County Save A Life Day – a free Naloxone giveaway – will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at Bridge Church, 6496 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot.
  • The monthly Night Market – featuring vendors, food trucks, and local bands – will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. This month’s theme will be Paws & Claws Night.
