STACY DENT
Stacy Dawn Dent, 41, of Milton, passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Stacy was full of sunshine from the time she was born. Her outgoing personality would light up any room. She was a 2002 Hurricane High School graduate. Ethan, her son was the love of her life.
Her contagious smile and kind heart were her God given gifts. She was full of positive energy. She was always welcoming to anyone and never met a stranger. She so enjoyed Ethan and all his buddies. Not known for cooking, she always fixed them cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy and picked up milk shakes after a night of games, music and laughter. Everyone that knew her knew she loved to talk and laugh. Her continuous talking may have gotten on your nerves, but she continued talking. (Wonder where she got that from?) She was so proud of Ethan performing in the Red Hot Show Choir and was his biggest and loudest cheerleader. She loved the memory of going with her mom to the Price of Right. She got to come on down and won the showcase. She was always willing to help others even though sometimes she got in trouble. Her happiness was spending time watching movies, listening to music with Ethan and boyfriend, Rusty. Stacy was very thoughtful of others and loved whole heartly. God received an angel to talk to.
She is survived by her son, Ethan, her mother, Linda Dent of Culloden, her dad, Don (Sandy) of Scott Depot and love of her life and boyfriend, Rusty Cremeans. She had a very special uncle, Rusty Cook (Helen) who encouraged and supported her throughout her life no matter what. Also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Charles was a simple, loving man with a playful spirit and a heart of gold. Anyone who knew him would remember his great sense of humor, his quick wit, and his ability to make those around him laugh. He had a special way of lighting up the room with his jokes, and he never failed to keep his family smiling. He loved hearing from his family at any time of day, especially when they called just to say “Giggity Giggity,” and his home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
Charles was also known for his love of the small things in life—whether it was enjoying a serving of Tudors cornbread and beans, savoring black licorice, or relaxing with a glass of Early Times whiskey. He never was one for suits and ties but he sure loved his birthday suits, making sure to keep life lighthearted and fun. His homemade biscuits were legendary, and he’ll always be remembered for them, as well as his ability to make the simple moments special.
Charles was a man of simple values; family, honesty, and a deep sense of what was right. He didn’t need much to feel fulfilled, just the love of those closest to him and a quiet moment each day to reflect. He often turned to his Bible, quietly reading a verse or two, not out of obligation, but because it gave him peace. His faith was steady and personal, just like everything about him.
A proud veteran, Charles served in the United States Army from 1962 until his transition to the West Virginia National Guard, where he served as a combat engineer and head staff sergeant cook with the 111th Engineer Group in St. Albans, WV, until his retirement in 2005. While enlisted, Charles was given the opportunity to travel to many countries, gaining invaluable experiences that shaped his perspective on life and deepened his sense of duty and patriotism. He was a history guru and loved to share his knowledge with others, always eager to talk about the past.
In addition to his military service, Charles worked for the Laborer Local 1353 in Charleston, retiring as a Job Foreman.
Charles was a loving husband, a devoted father. His heart was full of love for his family, and he took great joy in spending time with them, whether it was at family gatherings or simple, quiet moments. He was the rock to his family in the deepest times. His great sense of humor brought joy to those around him and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A tribute to the life of Charles will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens. Burial with military honors will follow in the memory gardens.

Thomas M. Rascon III, age 83, of Longs, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Fairmont, West Virginia, Thomas M. “TR” Rascon III was the beloved son of Carl and Marybelle Sole. A proud patriot, TR entered the U.S. Army in 1959, embarking on a lifelong journey of service to his country.
As an Army Captain, TR served in the Republic of South Vietnam from August 1969 to August 1970 with B-32, Company A, 5th Special Forces Group. Stationed near the Cambodian border in An Phu, in the Mekong Delta region, he worked closely with indigenous forces as part of counterinsurgency operations and intelligence-gathering missions during one of the most complex phases of the war.
He continued his military service with the West Virginia Army National Guard, retiring in 1987 after distinguished service with the 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, TR dedicated himself to supporting fellow veterans through his work with the Vietnam Veterans Outreach Centers in Charleston, Huntington, and Parkersburg, WV. He completed his career with the VA in Salem, VA. A tireless advocate, he was instrumental in helping countless veterans across the states secure the benefits they earned and navigate life after military service.
TR was a lifelong fan of the West Virginia University Mountaineers and a devoted supporter of the Hurricane High School Redskins. His volunteer work at Hurricane High School left a lasting mark—notably, his craftsmanship lives on through the totem pole he built, which still stands proudly in the school commons.
