NOW – NOVEMBER 1

  • Fear on the Farm, 8325 Winfield Road, Winfield, is open for the season on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to midnight. For more information, call 681-203-3683.

NOW THROUGH THE END OF OCTOBER

  • The Putnam County Farmer’s Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the field beside Exxon, across from the Putnam County Library in Teays Valley.
  • The County Roads Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

OCTOBER 23

  • The Hometown Advantage Career Fair will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Putnam Career and Technical Center in Eleanor.
  • There will be a seminar on advance estate planning at 5:30 p.m.at the Putnam County main Library in Teays Valley.
  • The monthly Night Market – featuring vendors, food trucks, and local bands – will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. This month’s theme will be Fright Night.

OCTOBER 24 – 25

  • Test your wits, skill, and fearlessness by attempting the Abandoned Asylum Escape Room at the Putnam County Main Library on Friday and Saturday. Reserve a time slot for your group of 5 or less by calling the Main Library at 304-757-7308. This event is FREE. Ages 10 and up.

OCTOBER 24

  • Gritts’ Fun Farm in Buffalo will be holding Trick or Treat from 2 to 7 p.m. For more information, go to www.grittsfarm.com
  • Harvest in the Grove will start at 5:30 p.m. at Mitchell’s Grove (formerly known as Hometown Park), 10101 Charleston Road, Red House. Trick or treat, pumpkin carving, costume contest.
  • Fear on the Farm, 8325 Winfield Road, Winfield, will be hosting candlelight Are You Afraid of the Dark? Bloody Mary Scary Tales from 8 to 10 p.m. For more information, call 681-203-3683.
  • There will be a board game night from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at Game Grove, Putnam Village Shopping Center, Teays Valley.

  • Slasher Saturday Movie Night will start at 10 p.m. at Nitro Living Memorial Park.
  • Coffee With A Twist, 101 Main Avenue, Nitro, will be holding a craft vendor fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Town N Country Lanes, 409 1st Avenue, Nitro, will be holding their first annual Halloween party from 5 to 8 p.m. Costume contest, chili cook off, and more.

  • Country Roads Farmers Market will be holding their fall fun festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.
  • The Board Room, located behind the Hurricane Walmart, will be giving away free comics for Trick-or-Read 2025. Come in costume, and get 2 more free comics.

  • There will be a fall revival at Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene, 358 US Route 60. Services on Sunday at 10:40 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.

  • Buffalo United Methodist Church, located at 27 High Street in the Buffalo Historic Square, will be celebrating their 192nd year of founding and 155 years in their current church building, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
  • The First Baptist Church of Nitro, 2200 2nd Avenue, Nitro, will be holding trunk or treat from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Paint rocks with an autumn theme at Halloween ROCKS! from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Poca Library.
  • The Upper Vandalia Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. at the Bancroft Mission on Route 62. Park in rear of building.
  • Open Door Bible Church, 6711 State Route 34 S, Culloden, will be holding their fall festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Games, inflatables, food, and more.
  • Grace Life Church, 93 Joy Lane, Culloden, will be holding trunk or treat from 4 to 6 p.m.

OCTOBER 27

  • Oakwood Homes, 1 Pickens Road, Nitro, will be holding trick or treat from 4 to 6 p.m.
  • The Chapel, 501 Roosevelt Avenue, Eleanor, will be holding trunk or treat from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • The Putnam County Republican Party will be hosting “Stand and Speak: Honoring Charlie Kirk,” at 6:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Courthouse’s upstairs ceremonial courtroom in Winfield.
  • The Board Room, located behind the Hurricane Walmart, will be hosting a board game night featuring the racing game Hot Streak.

OCTOBER 28

  • The Halloween Hoedown, one of the biggest trunk or treats in the region, will be held at Nitro Living Memorial Park. Costume and dance contests.
  • There will be Scary Movie Trivia starting at 6:45 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. $20 per team – 50% goes to prize money. For more information, call (304) 562-0518.

  • The Putnam County STOP Team will be holding trunk or treat from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Courthouse parking lot in Winfield.
  • Bethel Baptist Church, Hurricane Creek Road, will be holding trunk or treat with dinner starting at 6 p.m.
