Community Calendar for Week of October 30

NOW – NOVEMBER 1

  • Fear on the Farm, 8325 Winfield Road, Winfield, is open for the season on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to midnight. For more information, call 681-203-3683.

OCTOBER 30 – 31

  • Discover the haunted side of Hurricane Bridge Park from 6 to 9 p.m. Enter on the Main Street side of the park.

OCTOBER 30

  • Oma Chapel Church, 949 Arbuckle Creek Road, Leon, will be holding Truth and Treat from 5 to 7 p.m.
  • There will be Trick or Treat in Bancroft and Nitro from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • There will be a homeschool science class at 10 a.m. at the Putnam County library in Teays Valley. Come in costume for a contest at the end of the lesson.
  • There will be a Skeletons and Silks aerial acrobatics class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $20. Ages 18 and up. To register, go to https://app.classfit.com/class/2205267

OCTOBER 31

  • There will be Trick or Treat in Buffalo, Eleanor, Winfield, and Poca from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • There will be a board game night from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at Game Grove, located in Putnam Village Shopping Center in Teays Valley.
  • The City of Hurricane will be holding Trick or Treat from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • The Board Room, 270 Progress Way, Hurricane, will be hosting Blood on the Clocktower games and a Halloween party starting at 7 p.m.

NOVEMBER 1

  • The West Virginia Farm Museum, 1458 Fairground Road, Point Pleasant, will be holding an antique tractor pull starting at 11 a.m.
  • Walker Chevrolet of Nitro will be holding trunk or treat from noon to 6 p.m. Candy hand out from 2 – 6 p.m. Pumpkin decorating contest 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, 5320 Frontier Drive, will be holding their annual craft show and bake sale from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Also included in the event is the Cross Lanes Woman’s Club Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon.
  • St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 2008 20th Street, Nitro, will be hosting Sounds of Fall from 6 to 8 p.m. Music, food, fun, and silent auction.
    Roots to Bloom, 722 1st Avenue S, Nitro, will be holding an open house from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ornaments, decor, gifts, and more.
  • There will be a tire collection day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Payne’s Produce in Winfield. Ten tires per person.
  • Yeager Design and Interiors, 168 Great Teays Boulevard, Scott Depot, will be holding their Christmas open house from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Putnam County Moose Lodge #2729, located in Putnam Village Shopping Center in Teays Valley, will be holding a Moose-o-ween party. Doors open at 11 a.m.; music starts at 8 p.m. There will be a WVU football tailgate and costume contest.

  • My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding their last hurrah open craft day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The United Methodist Women of the Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, 2848 Virginia Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding their annual fall festival from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

NOVEMBER 2

  • The Putnam County Farmers Market will be holding their 2025 fall meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. at Area 34, 971 WV Route 34, Teays Valley.
  • Blind Date With A Book: Swap and Brunch will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at Social Event Space, 2833 Main Street, Hurricane. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children.

NOVEMBER 4

  • My Messy Desk, 151 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding a shop the studio craft supplies sale from 2 to 8 p.m.

NOVEMBER 5

  • The Hurricane Regional Trail Workshop will be held at 6 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. This event will provide an opportunity for participants to share input on topics concerning regional trails.

NOVEMBER 6

  • There will be a financial aid workshop and FAFSA presentation from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Teays Valley Christian School in Teays Valley.
  • There will be a ribbon cutting for PrimeLending at 5 p.m. at 101 Carriage Way, Suite 104, Hurricane.
  • Fairy Trail Story Time will start at 10 a.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane. Meet at the shelter closest to the Fairy Trail mural.
  • The Pottery Place, 3550 Teays Valley Road Suite 4, Hurricane, will be holding a ceramic Christmas tree event from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $60. To reserve a spot, call (304) 931-5077.

  • There will be a pool tournament from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Senior Center.
