Bancroft’s Thanksgiving Day Tradition Continues

Participants in the Thanksgiving parade head down the streets of Bancroft.

Bancroft held its annual rendition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on Thanksgiving morning. A fire truck from the Bancroft Volunteer Fire Department led the procession, which made a circuit through the streets of the town. There were fewer participants in this year’s parade, probably due to the weather, which was quite cold that morning. However, those who were brave enough to come out had a great time walking through the town and waving to friends and neighbors.

Inspired by the famous parade held in New York City, the Bancroft Thanksgiving Parade started in 2020 as a way for residents to enjoy holiday fun from the warmth and safety of their own homes during the COVID pandemic. The parade has since become an annual tradition in Bancroft.

The Thanksgiving Parade is not the only holiday themed event which the Town of Bancroft has planned. This Saturday, December 6, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be coming to the Bancroft Park at 6 p.m. The public is invited to come for hot cocoa and photo opportunities.
