NOW – JANUARY 3

  • There will be a walk through light display chronicling the birth and life of Jesus from 6 to 11 p.m. at Winfield United Methodist Church, 20 Radwin Drive, Winfield.

TUESDAYS IN DECEMBER

  • Winfield United Methodist Church, 20 Radwin Drive, will be providing soup to go for those individuals affected by discontinuation of government food assistance from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays.

NOW – DECEMBER 23

  • The West Virginia Farm Museum, 1458 Fairground Road, Point Pleasant, will be holding the holiday light show drive through from 6 to 9 p.m. nightly.

DECEMBER 11 – 13

  • Walk Thru Bethlehem will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hometown Independent Mission, 25 Third Avenue South, Hometown.

  • There will be an interest meeting for a book club at the Buffalo Library at 11 a.m.
  • Santa will be at the Women’s Club of Nitro, 2205 2nd Avenue and 23rd Street, Nitro, from 5-7 p.m.
  • A Christian women’s group will be meeting at 5:30 p.m. at Coffee With A Twist, 101 Main Avenue, Nitro.
  • Christ Community Church, 733 Rocky Step Road, Scott Depot, will have a kids’ Christmas fun night from 6 to 8 p.m. Games, activities, art, and more.
  • There will be a free board game night from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at Game Grove, located in Putnam Village Shopping Center in Teays Valley.
  • Zoology Zone Science Center, located at Valley Park in Hurricane, will be holding Christmas at the Zoo from 5 to 6:30 p.m. featuring music and art students from Bridget’s Dance Academy.

  • Pancakes and Pajamas, a fundraiser for Bee Ridge Bears 4-H Club, will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wade Chapel Church, 5619 McLane Pike, Red House.
  • Wade Chapel Church, located at 4490 McLane Pike, Red House, along WV State Route 34, will present a Christmas Cantata beginning at 5:00 p.m.
  • A Wreaths Across America ceremony will be observed at noon at Beech Grove Cemetery, 305 Ivywood Street Eleanor.
  • Anna’s China Jewelry, 134 Lavender Lane, Fraziers Bottom, will be holding a holiday open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Breakfast With The Grinch will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at Coffee With A Twist, 101 Main Avenue, Nitro.
  • There will be pictures with the Grinch from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Poca Valley Bank in Winfield. Bring non-perishable items for the local mission.
  • Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens 11013 Charleston Road, Red House, will be observing National Wreaths Across America Day at noon.
  • The Winfield Fire Department Christmas Parade will start at 6 p.m. Santa is available for photos at the Winfield Community Center after the parade.
  • Roy Kuhl Sports, 25 Garfield Street, Winfield, will be holding their annual Christmas Moonlight Madness Sale from 6:30 to 10 p.m.
  • The Travelin Jones Band will be performing at 9 p.m. at the Putnam County Moose Lodge, located in Putnam Village Shopping Center in Teays Valley.
  • One Accord Independent Baptist Church, 35 Obadiah Lane, Hurricane, will be holding a Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • The Putnam County Democratic Women’s Club will be holding their holiday luncheon at noon at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane. The cost is $22 per person. RSVP by calling 681-529-7282.
  • There will be a multi-shelter adoption event from noon to 5 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.

  • Hurricane’s Christmas Parade will start at noon and go down Midland Trail and Main Street.
  • Life Seasons Support and Counseling Services will be hosting a workshop on “How To Be Me Without Them: Rediscovering Identity, Purpose and Peace in the Transition to an Empty Nest” at 10 a.m. at River Ridge Church, Saturn Drive, Hurricane.   • The Hurricane Nazarene Children’s Christmas Program will be presented at 10:40 a.m. The church is located at 358 US Route 60.
  • First Baptist Church of Hurricane, 2635 Main Street, Hurricane, will be holding their Christmas Cantata “One Quiet Night” at 8:50 a.m. and 3 p.m. There will be contemporary services at 11 a.m.

DECEMBER 17

  • Mission West Virginia Inc, 165 Midland Trail, Hurricane, will be holding a Christmas open house from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Cavalry Chapel, 212 Dudding Avenue, Hurricane, will be presenting “The Shepherd of Bethlehem,” a Christmas drama, at 6 p.m.

DECEMBER 18

  • Celebrate Recovery will be holding a community dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Church of the Nazarene, 25053 Buffalo Road.

DECEMBER 19

  • Come to Mitchell’s Grove (Hometown Roadside Park) on Route 62 for A Hometown Christmas at 5:30 p.m. S’mores, chestnut roasting, crafts, hot chocolate, and more.
  • Parents’ Night Out: Parents can bring children ages 3-12 to Bancroft Mission, 5936 Charleston Road, Bancroft, from 6 to 9 p.m. and then enjoy a night out. The cost is $10 per child.
