Community Calendar for Week of March 12

SATURDAYS THROUGH MARCH

  • There will be a free open gym for 1st – 5th graders every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Zone Out Sports, Morris Court, Hurricane.

MARCH 12 – 14

  • Adult Vacation Bible School: On the Potter’s Wheel will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Buffalo Church of the Nazarene, 25053 Buffalo Road. For more information, call (304) 395-1224.

MARCH 12

  • Thursdays are Mahjong Nights at the Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane. Games run from 6 to 8 p.m. Come play, learn the game, or teach new players.

MARCH 13

  • WV Health Right’s Mobile Medical Clinic will be in the parking lot of the Twin City Bible Church, 100 1st Avenue S, Nitro, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to conduct rapid testing for HIV and Hepatitis C, offer Narcan training, and provide referrals for treatment.
  • There will be a flowerpot painting fundraiser for Adelyn Shawver at 6 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 733 Rocky Step Road, Scott Depot. The cost is $40. Adelyn is raising money for a service dog in training. For more information, go to https://www.facebook.com/events/1495496645507205
  • There is karaoke every Friday from 9 p.m. to midnight at the Putnam Moose, located in Putnam Village Shopping Center in Teays Valley. Open to the public.

MARCH 14

  • The Town of Eleanor will be holding a puzzle competition from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Eleanor Town Hall. The cost is $20 for a team of 2-4 people. For more information about registering, call (304) 586-2319.

  • Putnam County’s Tastes & Talents Month: There will be a performance by Teays Valley Strings at 11 a.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.

  • Bible Center Church will be launching its Twin City Campus at 100 1st Avenue, Nitro, at 11 a.m.

MARCH 20 – 22

  • The Mega Kids Sale will be returning to Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
