Community Calendar for Week of March 18

SATURDAYS THROUGH MARCH

  • There will be a free open gym for 1st – 5th graders every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Zone Out Sports, Morris Court, Hurricane.

MARCH 19 – 21

  • Buffalo High School will be hosting a show choir clinic for 3rd through 8th graders from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, with a performance on Saturday at 5 p.m. To register, go to https://bhsmusic.givebacks.com/shop

MARCH 20 – 22

  • The Mega Kids Sale will be returning to Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

  • The Town of Eleanor will be holding a West Virginia history trivia night at 7 p.m. at the Eleanor Town Hall. For registration information, call (304) 586-2319.
  • Gentle Courage Yoga Flow will be held at 6:30 p.m. at River Ridge Church, 1 Saturn Way, Hurricane.

MARCH 21

  • There will be a benefit spaghetti dinner for Shawn Martin’s family from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buffalo Fire Department, 19229 Buffalo Road. The cost is $10.
  • The Buffalo Church of the Nazarene, 25053 Buffalo Road, will be holding an Easter bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • There will be a benefit auction and hot dog sale for Kenneth and Melissa Massey starting at 10 a.m. at Faith Christian Fellowship, 54 Krystal Lane, Buffalo.
  • There will be a spring festival craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Eleanor Presbyterian Church, 647 Eleanor Circle. Admission is one non-perishable food item.

  • Battleground Professional Wrestling will be coming to Fear on the Farm, 8325 Winfield Road, Winfield, starting at 6 p.m.
  • There will be a Mac Market fundraiser for students at the Macholah Ballet from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the studio located at 6422 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot.
  • The Putnam County Democratic Women’s Club will be holding their monthly luncheon at noon at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane. The cost is $22 per person. Call 304-727-2218 to RSVP.

MARCH 21

  • Hometown Apostolic Church, 204 2nd Avenue N, Hometown, will be hosting a youth service at 6 p.m.
  • Teays Valley Baptist Church, 3926 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, will be holding a community critter dinner at 5p.m. Enjoy a spread of wild game fish, and classic dishes, as well as bluegrass gospel music.
  • Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church, 2848 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane, will be holding their Easter bunny breakfast and egg hunt starting at 9 a.m.

MARCH 22

  • The Capitol City Fellowship Choir Spring Concert will be held at 5 p.m. at King’s River Worship Center, 777 Mallory Lane N, St. Albans.

  • Celebrating Tastes & Talents Month: The Poca Library will be hosting Creation Station from 9 a.m. to noon. Create collages, paint, sculpt clay, and “write” blackout poetry.
  • Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene, located on Route 60, will be holding a glow Easter egg hunt from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m.

MARCH 26

  • The Town of Eleanor will be holding a monthly history chat at 6 p.m. at the Homestead Room in the Eleanor Town Hall.
  • The Putnam County Fair Board will be meeting at 7 p.m. at the Eleanor Volunteer Fire Department, upstairs room.
