Festival Makes Main Street Fun

Bounce houses and slides were part of the inflatable fun at Hurricane’s Main Street Spring Festival.

Hurricane’s annual Main Street Spring Festival was held last Saturday, May 3.

The festival featured many activities for children, including games such as checkers and bean bag toss, face painting, balloon art, and inflatable slides and bounce house. There was also a mobile gaming trailer provided by WV Mobile Gaming LLC which featured a variety of video games to play.

Festivalgoers enjoyed sweet treats such as cotton candy, as well as food from Jo’s Belknap and Sergio’s Cucinia Italiana & Steaks, the two restaurants located on Main Street. There were also numerous vendors who were selling knickknacks, accessories, decor items, plants, jewelry, cat toys, and pottery.

The festival generated a lot of foot traffic for the shops on Main Street, with many of those who came for the event stopping in to check out what these establishments offer. Several of the shops also offered festival day specials, such as sales and fun activities.

One of the activities at the festival was Pick-A-Duck and win a prize.
