Community Calendar for Week of May 28

MAY 28

  • The Night Market at Valley Park will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Local vendors and live entertainment. This month’s theme is Derby Night.
  • The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Putnam County Bank on Hurricane Creek Road. To RSVP, call 304-757-6510.

MAY 29 – 30

  • Faith Christian Fellowship, 54 Krystal Lane, Buffalo, will be hosting a big tent youth revival starting at 7 p.m. nightly.
  • The 7th Herd Immunity Livestock Show will be held at the Winfield Riding Club in Winfield. Open to youth in Putnam, Cabell, Jackson, Lincoln, Roane, and Mason Counties.

MAY 29

  • WV Birth to Three and the Putnam County Family Support Center will be hosting Stomp, ROAR, Let’s Explore from 4 to 6 p.m. at Eleanor Park. Games, activities, and prizes for every child who attends.
  • There will be a Paint and Praise Ladies Night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Teays Valley Church of God, 185 Connection Point, Scott Depot. The cost is $35 per person. To register, go to the church’s Facebook page or call (304) 757-9222.
  • Putnam County Solid Waste Authority will host a homeschool science class at Hurricane City Park from 10 a.m. to noon.
  • Hurricane First Church of the Nazrene Women of Worth Ministry will be celebrating their first year anniversary at 6 p.m. The church is located at 358 US Route 60, Culloden.

MAY 30

  • The Macholah Ballet Studio 2026 recital, “Celebrate!”, and company spring show, “Joan of Arc,” will start at 2 p.m. at Huntington High School. To purchase tickets, go to https://24005.danceticketing.com

  • There will be a special time of worship and prayer during Bridge The Valley, held from 3 to 9 p.m. at The Bridge Church, 279 Dairy Road, Poca.
  • The Eleanor Pool will be opening for the season. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Heritage Barber Shop, 19964 US Route 60, Culloden, will be holding their seventh anniversary cookout from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • The 3rd Annual Paws and Pistons Car Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Winfield. Location is the grassy field in front of City National Bank.
  • There will be a free sports physicals clinic from 8 a.m. to noon at Vandalia Health, 3948 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane. Students must bring the sports physical form provided by their school, SIGNED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN to receive a physical. Forms will be available at the clinic.
  • There will be a benefit yard sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at January’s at Chase Park in Hurricane for Brittany and PJ Davis’ infertility journey.

  • The Friends of Buffalo WV History club will meet at 3 p.m. at the Buffalo Welcome Center, 20022 Charleston Road, Buffalo.
  • Higher Ground will be performing at 10:45 a.m. at Judson Baptist Church, 72 Addington Place, Winfield.

FRIDAYS IN JUNE AND JULY

  • Food Truck Fridays will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hurricane City Park.

JUNE 1 – 5

  • Red House Bible Church, 51 Warner Lane, Red House, will be holding a teen animation class from 6:30 to 8 p.m. nightly. The theme will be Ten Plagues, One Mighty God.
  • Red House Bible Church, 51 Warner Lane, Red House, will be holding Greatest Show on Eearth Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8 p.m. nightly. Pre-K through 5th grade.

JUNE 1 – 2

  • There will be a Trendy Chix Pop Up Sale from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday and 10:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Yeager Design and Interiors, 168 Great Teays Boulevard, Scott Depot.

  • There will be an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Winfield Nazarene Church, 10822 Winfield Road, Winfield.

  • All locations of the Putnam Library will be hosting Summer Reading Open Houses during operating hours. Stop by and play games, do a craft, or just explore what the library has for you.

  • Fitness Friday: There will be a tai chi class at 10 a.m. at the Putnam County Main Library in Teays Valley.
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State will be hosting Business Before Business from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Area 34, 971 State Route 34, Teays Valley. RSVP by calling 304-757-6510.

  • The 2026 Davis Creek Pony Club dressage and jumper show will be held at the Winfield Riding Club.
