Bids have yet to be received but the City of Hurricane hopes that groundbreaking for its new fire station will begin in early fall. Construction is slated to be completed next July.

The station will be located just past the new Hurricane Bridge Park on a 5-acre parcel of land.

The new station will provide office space and training facilities in addition to space needed for the larger firetrucks and equipment.

The move to the new location will allow the Main Street location to be used for additional parking and future development.
