Quick Response to Blaze in Mobile Home Park Limits Damage

On Monday, June 28, Hurricane Fire & Rescue answered a call from the 2600 block of Second Street, less than two blocks distant from the fire station on Main Street.

Three minutes later, the first units arrived on the scene to find a single-wide trailer fully engulfed in flame. The quick response prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring mobile home units.

Battling in severe heat, firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in approximately 20 minutes. Two of the first responders, suffering from dehydration and heat exposure, were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington where they were treated and held overnight.
