TUESDAYS THROUGH AUGUST 10
Appalachian Boarding Company is holding paddleboard lessons at the Hurricane City reservoir. Session 1 is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and session 2 is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for one session, or $35 for both sessions. To register, text 304-610-8999.

Hope for Addiction meetings are held every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane.

The Kiwanis Free Swim Night will be held every Thursday at the Nitro Pool through Aug. 26 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Food Truck Friday is held every Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

SATURDAYS UNTIL OCTOBER
The Putnam County Farmers’ Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Valley Park, Hurricane.

SUNDAYS DURING SUMMER
Thankful Valley Farms will be giving away fresh produce every Sunday this summer from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Stokes Grocery in Buffalo.

NOW – JULY 31
The Jackson County Junior Fair will be held at the Jackson County Junior Fairgrounds, 508 Cottageville Road, Cottageville.

JULY 30
The Buffalo Alumni Banquet will be held from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Teays Valley. The cost to attend is $35 per person. For reservations, call Lana Sullivan Adkins at 304-444-7046.
The Buffalo Library will be holding a yoga therapy class at 1 p.m.
There will be a community campfire with horseback riding, games, bounce house, and more from 8 to 11 p.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Hurricane.
There will be a fitness hike on the Fairy Trail at Valley Park in Hurricane at 10 a.m.
The 2021 Putnam Chamber Annual Dinner Meeting & Celebration will start at 6 p.m. at Valley Park in Hurricane.
There will be a Chick-Fil-A pop up from 4 to 6 p.m. at Children First, 3564 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.
Putnam County WV Homeschool Co-Op is hosting a homeschool hangout at 11 a.m. at the Hurricane City Park Sprayground.

JULY 31
There will be an Under the Sea movie night at 7:30 p.m. at Waves of Fun in Hurricane. Regular pool rates apply. Movie will be “Moana.”
There will be a routine vehicle maintenance class at 2 p.m. at Ferrell Automotive, 501 Midland Trail, Hurricane.

AUGUST 1 – 4
One Life Church, 318 Thompson Road, Culloden, will be holding Basic Elements VBS, a science inspired, Christ focus VBS program. The first session is Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. and then Aug. 1-4 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

AUG. 1, 15, 29

The Nitro Antique Car Club will be holding a cruise-in starting at 5 p.m. at the Living Memorial Park in Nitro.

There will be a vendor event starting at 11 a.m. at the Ridenour Park in Nitro that will benefit pageant queens.
The Winfield Nazarene Church will be holding an indoor yard sale fundraiser and hot dog sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Story Booth Drive Thru Adventure will be returning to Valley Park in Hurricane from 5 to 6 p.m. Escape to the land of fairytales from your own car.

AUGUST 9 – 14

Summerfest 2021 will be held at the mound at South Charleston from 4 to 9 p.m. each evening.
