JOHN ALBRECHT
John Eric Albrecht, 42, of Poca, passed away September 14, 2021.
John was born on March 31, 1979 in Clinton, Iowa. He was an Artist, loved music and the Denver Broncos.
He is survived by his mother Elsie Sikora; father John and wife Pam Albrecht; sisters Kathy Albrecht, Lisa Albrecht and Denise Burdette; brother Joshua Albrecht and a host of other family and friends.
A tribute to the life of Mr. John Albrecht was held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Charleston, with Pastor Jamie Strickler officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Derinda, IL.

SUSANNAH BOLIN
1st Lt. Susannah Myers Bolin, 72, of Poca, passed away the 15th day of September 2021 in Acuity Specialty Hospital, Wheeling.
Mrs. Bolin was born the 4th day of November, 1948, to the late Nathan Leroy Myers and Virginia May Williamson Myers. She is a retired Registered Nurse that proudly served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp.
Mrs. Bolin is preceded in death by her husband LTC. Harold Eugene Bolin.
She is survived by her children Robert Bolin, Kellie (Chris) Harper, Mark (Kim) Bolin and Michelle Bolin (Joe Jones); grandchildren Logan Harper, Ashley Bolin-Moore, Kaitlyn Barkley, Noah Barkley and Adam Barkley and great grandchildren Ke-Shon Lawson and Dominic Blaze Moore.
At this time there will be no service.
1st Lt. Bolin will be laid to rest with her husband LTC. Bolin in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

CLAUDIA COOPER
Claudia Ellis Wilson Cooper, 86, of Winfield, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at Cabell Health Care Center in Culloden, where she had been a resident for the past two years. She is now rejoicing in the Eternal presence of our Lord whom she loved and served since childhood.
Claudia was a member of Starcher Baptist Church of Charleston, where she served in a number of different offices, including ABW President, Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess, choir member, and Secretary/Treasurer of Mission support.
In addition to her church work, Claudia had a number of interests, including sewing, cooking, crafts of all kinds, painting, and reading (especially history and genealogy). She had a remarkable memory for dates and places of historical events, and for major life events of ancestors, family, friends, and acquaintances. She remembered dates of birth and anniversaries of everyone she knew and sent greeting cards to mark those events.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Okey S. and Lucy G. Carte Wilson; daughter, Elizabeth Carpenter; infant brother, Jackie E. Wilson; and brother-in-law, Robert B. Edwards.
Claudia is survived by her husband, Auburn “Bud”Cooper; her sister, Connie W. Edwards of Scott Depot; her niece, Melanie E. (Gerry) White of Charleston; her nephew, Grant W. (Marnie) Edwards of Hurricane; her great-nieces, Chloe White and Holly Edwards; her great-nephew, Connor Edwards; her son-in-law, Clinton Carpenter of Cross Lanes; and her dear friend and pen pal, Ena Barclay of Scotland, although they never met or spoke personally, they shared their lives in letters for 75 years.
Graveside service was Monday, September 20, 2021 at Winfield Cemetery, Winfield, with Elder Frank Allen officiating.

RICHARD GULAN
Richard Dustin “Rich” Gulan, 33, of Cross Lanes, passed away September 15, 2021.
Rich was a painter and maintenance man. He attended Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene and had a love for animals.
He is survived by his mother Bunny Gulan of Dunbar; father Bobby Gulan of FL; brother Chaz Gulan of FL; grandmother Thelma Warford of Dunbar and a host of other family and friends.
A tribute to the life of Rich was held Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene with Pastors Charles Williams and Randy Lanham officiating.

BARBARA ANN MYERS
Barbara Ann Myers, 81, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at her home following a long illness. She was a loving mother who dedicated her life to her family and raising her children. She retired from the Eye and Ear Clinic in Charleston as the director of nursing.
Born February 21, 1940 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Brown and Dorothy Hindman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Darryl L. Myers.
Survivors include her son, Brian Myers of Atlanta; daughter, Kathy (Tim) Pritt of Winfield; son, David Myers of Cincinnati OH; sister, “Sonny” Horton of Lancaster, PA; grandchildren, Jonathon Pritt, Mackenzie Pritt and Elliot Myers.
In accordance with her wishes her body will be cremated and her remains placed in the ocean, a place that she dearly loved. No services are planned at this time.

DONNA J. MYNES
Donna Joyce (Burns) Mynes, 71, of Hurricane, passed away on September 11, 2021. She was born on January 9, 1951, in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Millard and Verma Burns. A graduate of Milton High School, she married Ernest Mynes in 1970, the two having shared 51 years of marriage.
She is survived by Ernest, as well as their three children, Tammy St. Clair (Marvin Carr), Leanne James, and Jeromy Mynes (Beth Bartlett). Also surviving are her loving grandchildren, Ezra St. Clair and Marissa Mynes, and her faithful Jack Russell, Dude.
In lieu of a funeral service, a memorial gathering will be held on December 29, 2021, 6-8 pm at the Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane.

JUANITA ROSE ROGERS
Juanita Rose Rogers, 94, of Scott Depot, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Rolling Meadows Assisted Living, Scott Depot.
She was born in Oak Hill to the late George O. and Wilma Rogers Crawford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Rogers, Jr; son, Scott Hiran Rawn; grandson, Michael Fulton; brother, Jack Crawford; sister-in-law, Gerry Crawford.
Juanita was a retired LPN from Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston with 25 years of service. She was a devout Christian and very strong in her faith. Juanita had a servant’s heart and lived to serve others. She loved crafting. Especially, needle work, jewelry, making Christmas ornaments and floral arrangements. She loved her family, friends and her furbaby, Muffy and will be missed by all.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Susan Ware (David); daughter-in-law, Marie Rawn; brother, Timothy Crawford, grandchildren, Michelle Brewer (Lee), Kimberly Bullock (Jason) and Bryan Null; great grandchildren, Spencer, Abigail, Thomas, Xavier, Zander and Haylee; furbaby, Muffy.
Funeral service was Friday, September 17, 2021 at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, St. Albans, with Pastor Brian Dean officiating.

MIRANDA RAE SCHEER
Miranda Rae (Legg) Scheer, 42, of Hurricane, went to Heaven September 14, 2021 after battling cancer for the past 4 years.
Miranda was born on January 9, 1979. She was a loving wife and mother. She played piano and sang in church from her youth until her passing. She loved laugh, to cook, to read, to crochet, to travel, to try different cuisines, to spend time with family and friends, and enjoyed anything British. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her three children.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Peter; her three children, Jacob (Brianna), Caleb, and Liberty; her parents Geary and Barbara Legg; her brothers Christopher (Leisa), and Benjamin (Stephanie); her nephews Trenton, Isaac, Dylan, and Jackson; her niece Annabelle, and many other family and friends who loved her dearly.
Service was Monday, September 20th, at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Culloden, with Pastor Claude Spurlock officiating. (Pro 31:10) Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above Rubies.

JAMES BENSON SHEDD SR.
James Benson (Pops) Shedd Sr., 86, of Hurricane, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at CAMC Memorial.
He was retired from Constellium Aluminum in Ravenswood, he was a volunteer fireman with Ravenswood Fire Department serving many different positions and one of the first Volunteer Paramedics in the State and was a Veteran of the US Army. He attended Hurricane First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Wilda Casto Shedd; son, Jim (Alice) Shedd Jr. of Scott Depot; daughter, Beth (Terry) Johnson of Georgetown, KY; grandchildren, Kim (K C) Davis, Kelsey (Andrew) Crisco, Jacob Thomas and Lily Thomas; 3 great grandsons; brothers, Neil, Bill and Dale Shedd.
Funeral service was Tuesday, September 21, at Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Stoner officiating, Burial was in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery.
