City of Hurricane Teams with Putnam County Bank to Sponsor Veterans Appreciation Dinner

The Hurricane High was not open on Veterans Day, November 11, but doors to the school’s commons were open wide to U.S. military veterans and a guest between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m.

The event kicked off with the presentation of Colors by students in the high school’s Future Leaders Program followed by the National Anthem.

Members of Cub Scout Pack 236 greeted veterans and presented them “Thank You for Your Service” cards of appreciation.

It was a great day to be a veteran as all in attendance and their guest were served a barbecue plate, sides, roll, dessert and drink.

The appreciation dinner has become an annual event hosted by the City of Hurricane, Putnam County Bank and L&R BBQ.
