The Putnam County Democratic Women’s Club recently gifted a donation to the Christian Community Cupboard

“We see the amount of good the Community Cupboard does for the community and feel they are very worthy,” said Ivin Lee, a member of the Democratic Women’s Club. “We want to give back to the community.”

The Community Cupboard is located on the grounds of the Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church on Putnam Avenue in Hurricane, and it is open on Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. The food pantry’s service area is Putnam County south of the Kanawha River. Sixteen different churches volunteer at the cupboard throughout the year. Donations are accepted during operating hours.
