First Baptist Church of Hurricane performed “Run to the Hope,” a Christmas musical, on Sunday, December 12. The church offered both an afternoon and an evening showing, which featured the musical talents of the church choir.

The cantata was directed by Beth Davenport, with Belinda Vance as orchestra rehearsal director. Mattie Clay did the narrations.

Many of the featured songs included the word “hope” in them, emphasizing the hope brought about by the birth of Christ.

The Christmas cantata is a long-standing tradition at First Baptist Church.
