BRADY L. BONECUTTER
Brady L. Bonecutter, 82, of Leon, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at Foote Mineral with 20 years of service. Brady was a Christian and attended Leon Community Church.
Born January 31, 1940, in Henderson, he was the son of the late Owen Bonecutter and Wilma Duncan Bonecutter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Ann Bonecutter, Barbara Rainey, Melba Smith and Drema Bowman; brothers, Steve, Lester and William Bonecutter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Judy Ann (Bowles) Bonecutter; sons, Raymond Bonecutter of Leon and Johnny (Teresa) Bonecutter of Leon; sister, Brenda Holley of Pt. Pleasant; brother, John (Denise) Bonecutter of Pt. Pleasant; sister in law, Faye Bonecutter; grandchildren, Trista (Shannon) Jordan, Cassie Bonecutter, Kari Bonecutter, Kala Bonecutter and Adam Bonecutter; great grandchildren, Jaden Jordan, Zackery Jordan, Kylee Bonecutter and Finnley Bonecutter. Brady is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral service was Monday April 18, 2022 at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo. Burial was in Leon Cemetery, Leon.
BRITNEY KENNEDY
Britney Nicole Kennedy, 32, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away suddenly on April 13, 2022 at Home.
Formerly of Hurricane and graduated from Hurricane High School, she was preceded in death by her mother Barbie Kennedy and grandfather Butch Kennedy, step-grandfather Bob Osborne, great grandmother Barbra Knuckles, great grandparents Carl and Burnlene Handley.
She is survived by father Paul Kennedy, brother Jacob (Sierra) Kennedy; grandmothers Sue Kennedy and Carolyn Osborn and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held in the near future and will be posted as soon as possible.
HOWARD EDDIE NEASE
Howard Eddie Nease, 80, of Poca, went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2022. Those preceding him were his wife of 42 years Nancy Sue Hastings Nease, and his parents Elben Pearl and Helen Stewart Nease; great grandson Jacob Wade Ncholas; sister, Alice and Ernie Sypolt; and brother, William (Bert) Nease Sr.
He is survived by daughter Valerie Cremeans of St. Albans; son, David and Angela Nease of Liberty, SC; son, Mark and Terri Nease of Hurricane; brother, Gary Nease of St. Albans; Tami and Mike Lemaster of Gallipolis; Gary (Chip) and Cyndi Terry of Milton.
A Celebration of Life service was held April 16, at the Barboursville Community Center.
LARRY ALLEN OXLEY
Larry Allen Oxley, 77, of Scott Depot, passed away on April 16, 2022
He was born on February 1, 1945, to the late Roy and Etta Oxley in South Charleston. He was preceded in death by his sister, Louise McCallister; brother, Shelby Oxley; and step daughter, Mary “Darlene” Schupska.
He was a 1962 graduate of Hurricane High School, and entered the Navy shortly after high school. He went on to retire from Special Metals Corporation. He loved spending time with family and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed motorcycles, boating, gun collecting, camping and watching sports especially his beloved WVU Mountaineers.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Groff) Oxley of Scott Depot; son, Eric Oxley (Jessica) of Hebron, KY; sisters, Peggy Bush (Dwane) of Hurricane and Joyce Grass of Hermon, ME; grandchildren, Hayden, Ethan and Lincoln Oxley, Rikki Ashley (Travis) and Christopher Schupska; great grandchildren, Bentley, Jackson and Luke; and many other extended family and friends.
Funeral service was Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Pastor James Dennis officiating. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.
JANET BIRD SEARLS
Janet Bird Searls, 83, of Hurricane, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston surrounded by her family.
She was a loving, wife, Mother and Nanny. She was the daughter of Evi and Elva Burton Bird. Janet was a Baptist by faith. She was also an Eastern Star for 62 years in Hurricane Chapter No.116. Janet graduated from Hurricane High School in 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jean Myers.
Janet is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 67 ½ years, Frank Searls, her only child, F.D. Searls II (LuAnn), Grandsons, J.D. Searls of Hurricane, Franklin T Searls (Melanie) of Topsham, Maine; Great Grandchildren, Finley Thomas Searls, Wesley James Searls and Penelope Rose Searls all of Topsham, Maine. Special cousin who was like a sister, Dianna Pullen, nieces, Pam Brumfield, Anita Giakas and Kim Myers.
Funeral services wer held Friday, April 15, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane with Rev. Bruce Keeling , cousin of Janet and Todd Goodby officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Olive/Searls Cemetery in Hurricane.
