Lunar Eclipse Captured Over Teays Valley

Crystal Rooper of Teays Valley sent in these photos of the total lunar eclipse which occurred on the night of Sunday, May 15, through the early AM on Monday, May 16. The eclipse, which is caused by the Earth’s shadow blocking sunlight from reaching the moon, lasted approximately 85 minutes, making it the longest one in thirty-three years.
