Food Truck Friday has returned to the gazebo area on Main Street. This popular weekend event will last all summer and bring a variety of local food trucks to Hurricane.
To start off the 2022 season, the opening day featured both an afternoon edition and an evening edition with live music by Putnam County legends Sounds of Bluegrass. This band has been in existence for over forty years, and was originally was composed of Darrell Black and Ruth Ann Crist. As time passed, more members were added. The Sounds of Bluegrass is a family group, and many of the bandmembers are related. Friday’s performance was the first time that the band has played without Ted Black, the lead singer and lead guitarist. He was unable to attend due to health reasons.
Food Truck Friday is generally an afternoon only affair, but for special occasions, an evening event, featuring musical entertainment, is added. Bite Mi, Twisted Grille, and Rocky’s World were the featured vendors at both day and evening.
Each Food Truck Friday is sponsored by a different local business or organization. The Putnam County Library and the Putnam County Bank were the sponsors for the opening day.
The next Food Truck Friday will be held on June 10th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Featured vendors include Southside Sliders, Wild and Wonderful BBQ, and ScragglePop Kettlecorn.
