Hurricane 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest Results in Tie

Pictured is Matt Leary, owner of Farley’s Hot Dogs; Logan Beabout and son; and Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards.

Both Logan Beabout of Scott Depot and Scott McKillop of Hurricane consumed 15 weiners and buns in 5 minutes at the City of Hurricane’s annual 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Beabout was awarded the Winner’s Trophy and the $500 first place money because he managed to swallow two addition hot dogs before McKillop could empty his mouth.

McKillop was last year’s champion and a three-time winner. As runner up, he took home a check for $250. Second runner up Austin Wine, also of Hurricane, won the $100 third place money.
