CAROLYN SUE FERGUSON
Carolyn Sue Ferguson of Lick Creek Road in Hurricane, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2022.
She was born August 1, 1935 in Green Sulphur, Summers County. She graduated Salutatorian of her 1952 class at Sandstone High School in Green Sulphur Springs. She attended and graduated from the Charleston School of Commerce and was a member of the Alpha Lota Sorority.
She worked for the Charleston Chamber of Commerce before moving into real estate with Union Carbide’s Real Estate Division. From there she spent a lifetime in real estate working for both Dobbins, Fisher and Pittman and Old Colony Realtors before retiring in 2005.
Her passions included writing, learning, traveling, collecting dolls and bells and many other things that sparked her interest. But her first passion was family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Effie Caroline and Frank Bunyan Lively and all 8 of her siblings, Lester, Claude, Frank, Millard and Glen Lively along with Geneva Cadle, Opal Zickafoose and Mary Lou Clemente.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Marion E. “Pete” Ferguson, sons, Charles Ferguson (Gabriele) and Lane Ferguson (Deborah); grandchildren, Jessica Porta (Nicholas), Kristen Hively (Joshua), Travis Ferguson, Derek Ferguson, Rebekah Ferguson, Loran Ferguson; great grandchildren, Baylee Carpenter, Austin Porta, Karli Hively, Cooper Porta and Wesley Conley. She was Aunt Sue to numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Pastor Jerry Losh officiating. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.

MARIA FLORALDE HAGER
Maria Floralde Hager, 58 of Hurricane, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. She was born December 12, 1963 in Manila, Philippines; daughter of the late Terry and Linda Adams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lito Adams. Maria is survived by her loving Husband of 36 years, Bryan Hager; son, Adam Hager; daughter, Rachel Pyles; her grandchildren, Arianna and William Hager, Lucy and Emma Pyles; Sister, Terrilyn Hagerty.
Maria devoted her life to her family and friends. She poured out self-sacrificing love to all those around her through her actions, kind words, and of course, her cooking. Tough, brave, fierce, are only a few characteristics to describe her journey from start to finish. She will be deeply missed, cherished, and remembered as an inspiration to always keep fighting.
Funeral service was Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington.

BRENDA “ANN” HINSHAW
Brenda “Ann” Hinshaw, 82, of Scott Depot, departed this life on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Richard Hinshaw, and her parents, Jesse and Sarah E. B. Crawford Adams, of Lewistown PA.
Ann is survived by her son, Mike Hinshaw and his wife, Cindy, and her two granddaughters, Alicia McWatters and her spouse Wes, and Ali Holmes and her spouse Scott, all from Hurricane. She is also survived by her cousin, Catherine Gert Houser, and her spouse Tim, of Milroy PA.
Ann selflessly donated her body to Marshall University for the advancement of medical education and research.
Ann grew up in Yeagertown PA, where she was a member of the Yeagertown Methodist Church before moving to Scott Depot to be closer to her son and his family.
Ann was a member of Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, of Hurricane. She loved her church and her church family. She was also a member of P. E. O. Sisterhood Chapter H, of Charleston, where she held various positions, including President.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 1 p.m., at Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, Hurricane. Pastor Joe Kenaston, presiding.

MYRTLE F. LITTON
Myrtle F. Litton, 95, daughter of the late Andrew and Virginia Collins, passed peacefully July 28, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ernest F. Litton, daughter Rita, sons, Joe, George and Tom.
She is survived by her children Becky Landers, Brenda Crank, Jeanie Bennett, Kathy Settle and Joey Broussard. 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral service was Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home. Entombment was in Valley View Cemetery.

SANDRA MAYFIELD
At the age of 84, Sandra “Sandy” Suzette Mayfield died resting in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Sandy was born on June 12, 1938, in Clendenin, to the late Clarence Osborne and Emma Dora Byerly Osborne. After graduating from Clendenin High School, she received her Bachelor of Education from Fairmont State University and taught elementary school in VA, FL, OH, and WV.
Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, James Thomas Mayfield of Winfield and her daughters, Emma Lee (Paul David) Kurts and Elizabeth (Anthony) Mullins of NC. Her four grandchildren in NC are Sarah (Trevor) McGuire, LeeAnna Gill, James Kurts, and Michael (Ashleigh) Kurts, and her great-granddaughter is Riley McGuire. Her dear sister, Patricia Osborne Merandi, preceded her in death in 2016.
Sandy was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian church in Hurricane and rested in the assurance that her life is hidden in Christ. She adored her family, sharing meals and playing board games with them. She preferred to be outdoors, gardening (vegetable and ornamental) and birdwatching. She loved her pets, reading, and puzzles. She was one-of-kind, ornery, and “anything but vanilla” (as she always said about ice cream.) Her life mattered, and she will be fiercely missed.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6 at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, Hurricane Visitation will be one hour prior.

JOHN E. MUNDELL
John E. Mundell, 66, of Fraziers Bottom, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Katherine Mundell.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Dianne Mundell; children, Tony Mundell and his wife Samantha, Angela Reed and her husband Chad and Michael Mundell and his wife Robin; grandchildren, Samantha, Alexandria, Lucas, Tony, Aiden and Maria; great grandchildren, Mason, Molly, Bradley and Natalie.
In accordance with John’s wishes there will be no public services.

CHRISTIAN WALROTH
Christian Michael Walroth, 31, of Hurricane, was called home into the arms of Jesus on July 25th, 2022.
He was born May 1st, 1991 in Columbus, Ohio, to Tim and Lori Walroth of Hurricane. Christian was a fighter from day one. In his 31 years he underwent over 100 major surgeries, all while keeping a positive attitude. Christian was best known for his radiant smile and the joy he brought to others. The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Christian. He enjoyed evenings with family by the fire, staying in touch with friends on social media, listening to country music, playing cards, and fishing. He loved taking pictures to capture the moment so he could look back on the memories; he never met a stranger, you were immediately his friend.
Christian is also survived by his sisters: Paige Walroth of Hurricane and Taylor Pack (Seth) of Elkview; brother, Isaac Walroth of Hurricane; grandparents: Tim and Jerri Walroth of Lesage, Debbie Bradford (John Deitz), and Randy Bradford of Hurricane; nieces: Harper and Lily Jo of Hurricane; beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other extended family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends was held Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane.

FRANCES WICKLINE
Frances W. Boggess Wickline 90, of Hurricane, went home to be with the Lord Sunday July 31st, 2022; at her home in Hurricane, under the care of Hospice.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; who centered her whole life around her family. Having worked for the Division of Highways as a secretary under Arch Moore. Later working and retiring from K-Mart where she then took her role babysitting her grandson for 13 years and working in the Garden and Flowerbeds on the Wickline Farm.
Preceding her in death was her husband Edmond L. Wickline, her two sisters and three brothers, and her parents Warren and Martha Boggess. She is survived by her daughter Jeanette Waller and her husband Jerry Waller, her favorite grandson Jeremy Waller and his wife Georgia Waller, and two great grandbabies; Bohannon and Raelynn Waller who she loved very dearly. Also survived by her sister in-law and best friend Nancy Bair, Brother in-law Hubert and Maryanne Wickline, Nephew Ricky Fields.
Funeral service was Thursday, August 4th, at Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Doug Minton and Scott Pauley officiating.
