A Day of Honor for Putnam Veterans

Students from Winfield and Buffalo High Future Leaders Program retire the colors to close Veterans Appreciation Day ceremonies.

American Legion James E. Marshall Post 187 Winfield hosted the 15th Putnam County Veterans Appreciation Day on November 6 at the courthouse parking lot in Winfield with Jim McDade Commander American Legion Post 187 serving as master of ceremonies.

Students from the Winfield and Buffalo High School Future Leaders Program and the Winfield Generals Marching Band participated with Marka Hopkins singing the National Anthem.
Winfield High Future Leaders student Jordan Wiersma had a message of recognition and appreciation for all veterans.

Senator Glenn Jeffries read a proclamation naming the bridge over Route 817 in honor of Putnam’s veterans.

Marine Corps Veteran and Putnam County Sheriff Bobby Eggleton delivered the keynote speech and the Marine Corps League Cpl Wm B. Fulks Det 1474 Hurricane, WV performed the 13 Flag Fold.

American Legion Post 187 executed the Three Rifle Volley and Taps.
